Health officials in Pennsylvania are reporting the death of a woman due to complications from measles. NPR's Christian Wright says her death comes amid a resurgence of the highly contagious virus.
Pennsylvania's Jefferson County Coroner says the woman was 40 years old and a resident. He also confirms to NPR she was never vaccinated for the measles. Pennsylvania officials have now announced three deaths related to measles. The Lancaster County Coroner said the first two were infants. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy junior initially said maybe the two deaths were fabricated. And now the centers for disease control and prevention says it needs to review the deaths and hasn't added them to its official count tracking fatal cases.
