The ten year treasury is closely tied to commercial loan products like mortgages and suggests the interest rate on home loans could soon top seven percent. The president of the Cleveland Federal Reserve Bank warns the longer inflation remains elevated, the more costly it may be to bring prices under control. The central bank raised its benchmark interest rate last week, and investors expect at least one additional rate hike this year. And Starbucks says it's closing two hundred fifty underperforming stores in North America this week.

Former tech executive Elizabeth Holmes is said to be released early from federal prison. As NPR's Bobby Allen reports, Holmes was given an eleven year sentence in twenty twenty-two after a jury convicted her of fraud.
Holmes ran the blood testing startup Theranos, that was once the darling of Silicon Valley, but a jury found she defrauded investors out of hundreds of millions of dollars by deceiving them that Theranos could revolutionize health care with just a pinprick of blood. Her prison sentence had been reduced several times.
