Live from NPR News, I'm Lakshmi Singh. The Trump administration has less than half an hour now to comply with a court ordered deadline to respond to three major news organizations who filed a notice of noncompliance. As NPR's David Fokkenflick explains, CNN, Politico, and MS Now say their journalists were again blocked from entering the White House today. Hours after a federal judge issued a temporary restraining order that the White House lift its ban on the outlets.
Uh CNN Politico and Demis now said some of the staffers were denied entry to the White House early this morning. Uh Politico said one of its reporters had their press pass confiscated by the Secret Service, was blocked from entering the White House grounds. You saw on the air live this morning on CNN that uh one of their White House uh journalists, Betsy Klein, was turned back, although the network says one of its producers was able to enter using their pass. I've spoken to folks who have been a little bit of a at uh CNN and MS now and you know what they're saying at the moment is they're not hundred percent clear is this intentional foot dragging an intention to defy or just logistical complications.
