The Nobel Committee says Machado has been tireless in promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela against dictatorship. The Israeli military says the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel has come into effect. Israel says it's getting ready for the return of hostages and pulling back its troops in accordance with the plan. But Israel says it will be ready for any new threat. 200 U.S. troops will be heading to Israel to help monitor and implement the Gaza ceasefire. NPR's Quill Lawrence reports the troops will not be on the ground in Gaza.
