I'm Reid Lutanen, CEO of the U.S. Faster Payments Council, and this is Off the Rails from the U.S. Faster Payments Council. Today I'm chatting with Brian Demeer from Plaid. Brian and I talk about the open banking revolution, payment standards, fraud and risk, the Oscars and pyramids, but first, the headlines. FPC's spring member meeting last month was really an incredible event. Big thank you to ePay Resources for sharing the week with us. Thank you to all our members who attended. We had by far the largest turnout we've ever had with leaders from all the major network providers, financial institutions of all sizes, consumer advocates, regulators, corporate treasury professionals, all taking the stage and engaging in dialogue throughout the event.

All right. I'm joined by Brian Demir from Plaid. Brian, welcome to the show.

All right. Why don't we get started with some background? I think, you know, maybe briefly regarding Plaid, because I would expect most of the people listening to this are probably familiar with Plaid. But, you know, make sure you kind of check that box. But also, you know, when we were chatting before, you got a bit of an interesting personal journey in payments. I'm always a little bit fascinated by everybody's backstory because, you know, Basically, none of us decided we wanted to get into payments as a career until it just kind of happened to us. So I kind of want to hear from you. How did you get here and what you've seen along the way that is interesting and maybe colors what we're about to talk about?
Okay, yeah, wonderful. And again, thank you for having me. And yeah, let me just take a moment to talk a little bit about Plaid and then I'll talk about myself. Plaid is a technology provider that focuses on the open finance and open banking space. At its core, what we do is offer that connectivity. to the many thousands of financial institutions and data providers on one side of our network, and then many thousands of applications, enterprises, brands and companies on the other.
