Aidan Ganim filling in for Bob Stauffer as he gets some much-needed time off during the summer. And I mean, man, you know what I would give to be... I love Edmonton. I love the city of Edmonton so much, but the rain over the last weekend has been absolutely ridiculous. It's been crazy. Things have been absolutely nuts. I don't really feel like we've had that much of a summer yet. I know that we've had really, really hot days, but there hasn't been like a full week of really nice weather quite yet.

So I hope we can figure that out. I was mowing the lawn yesterday. and it was around 7 o'clock at night. I live on the east side of town, and I was mowing the backyard lawn, and I wrapped it up, and I decided it was time to go to the front after I had finished, and I started walking into this tunnel in between the house and the fence to the neighbor's yard, and I just felt a drop. then another one and then another one and then the sky got really dark and within 20 seconds I was completely rained out so I had to get out and quickly race back to the shed I had to throw the lawnmower in there and then run back inside and hang out with my dog Lenny in it and and yeah that was not fun Lenny fun fact he figured out

how to open his own food jar yesterday as well which uh which is something i'm gonna have to keep an eye on now i was sitting there with him and his food bucket is like this it's like a trash bin almost the way i want to describe it but um it's got clips on the side of him and i watched lenny kind of you know sneakily walk his way over to this this food bin and and started poking at it with his nose and he got one of the clamps off and i was like there's no way he's about to do this right and at that point at first i was going to stop him but it was simply out of pure curiosity that I wanted to see if Lenny could open this thing up, and he actually did. And that's quite a shock to the system, but we'll keep an eye on it.

Visit cowan.ca today. As we will head back into the Oilers Now audio vault, I want to play a clip from a conversation that I had with David Staples on Friday. And it was about the Edmonton Oilers and the second half of the season that they had. We all remember the start of the season for the Edmonton Oilers. Couldn't get three wins in a row. A lot of trouble there. There was not a point where you really felt like this team was going to completely miss the playoffs. But it felt different this year. There was there was a major difference. And while the Pacific Division got a little bit weaker, that's a conversation we got to have in a few moments time, actually. But the second half of the season, it felt like the Oilers were starting to get their stride a little bit.

Maybe it was. You know, Connor Ingram coming in as the new goaltender. Maybe it was that trade, Stuart Skinner.
