Speaking to Unchain on off the ball on Tuesday evening, the Corkman says that it was a bizarre situation after coming back from the World Cup in twenty twenty three. O'Mahni says that if he didn't continue he would have regretted it.

And um you know, I spoke to Caroline, I spoke to the leadership group in Ireland, spoke to leadership group in Munster, and um you know, spoke to the people that I, you know, sp you know, thought very highly of and and respected their opinions and and spoke to Andy and you know, came to the conclusion that, you know, I I'd regret it. I I'd I was physically fit, I was able for it, and and, you know, the fire was still there when I when I got to the actual conclusion and
You know, I thought the fact that I'd go into Munster saying that that they would have been delighted. Um and, you know, it that wasn't the way. Uh and it just it caught me off guard. And maybe that was me being naive because, you know, I knew from day one that I was a squad member there and and that's just business and that's the way sport is. It's not rugby, it's sport. You you know, you're a number and That's the way you always have to think of it, but I suppose I had that little bit more of an emotional connection to the whole thing and having been there since you know, my late teens, uh, you know, I I thought I deserved a little bit better than that.
