Who is Josh Palmer and what’s his role with the Buffalo Bills?
We got a Brampton boy on the line. We love it. Big part of the Buffalo Bills. Had a huge touchdown on Sunday down in Houston. Be a big part of the offense on Thursday night. We're gonna be down there. Cannot wait. Here he is from the Buffalo Bills, Josh Palmer. How you doing, Josh? I'm good, how are you guys? We're doing well. Have you ever stepped on the field with your helmet not done up properly? And if so, what did your coach think about? For practice. For practice.
Has Josh ever played with a helmet that wasn’t properly fastened?
Um no, I've never like if we're going full speed, my chest trap is always trapped.
Yeah, it gotta be, right? That's professionalism. You have to. You can't mess around with that. Never, man. And you like it's full speed out there. Even if it's no contact, you know you could run into someone in the NFL and that could be serious trouble, right? Like have you ever been blown up in practice by anybody?
Yeah, I have.
How'd that go?
Um Um, I'm glad my chest shot was buckled.
Yeah, exactly. That's there's the appropriate answer right there.
What does Josh think about the new Bills stadium and its facilities?
Um, so what do we make of the new stadium? We're gonna be down there in a couple of days. You've you've had the run through, you played preseason practiced in there a little bit. What do you make of uh the new high mark?
It's nice. Um, I don't I couldn't really um attest for the uh restaurants and seating and clubs all that stuff outside of the field, but uh Um the locker room and the field it's is very nice. I know we just got the grass updated and we uh ran on it today a little bit and it felt great.
Josh, is it great to be? You know, and have that atmosphere being so close to your hometown. I mean, you know, you're in Buffalo, do do you have a lot of friends and family that try and make it down to the games? Too many asked for tickets, like what's that scenario for you?
Uh no, I don't get that many asks to be honest. I know my family, my dad bought season tickets, um
How does playing in Buffalo let Josh stay close to his family and hometown?
To help whenever a family wants to come down, uh But it's it's it's it's it's really easy because I used to see my family a lot when I played in California. Um, but playing with the Bills now allows me to see my family more and it makes it easier for them to get the games.
So in terms of you getting home, I know like Josh Allen spoke pretty publicly about getting into Toronto. Uh the coaching stuff. We had Joe Brady on when he got hired and he said he comes up all the time. Like what what is your deal? Do you cross the border a lot or are you kinda dialed in for the season?
Uh during the season no I don't cross the border a lot. Uh outside of the season I'm usually not on the east coast, so uh I go home every soul like once in the blue moon.
Okay. All right. Well let's get a Super Bowl going and get the Super Bowl party going back in Brampton.
Does Josh cross the Canada‑U.S. border often during the season?
I think that would be the hope. Um and you guys had a great start. That would be cool. So playing with Josh Allen, like he had a big touchdown on Sunday, a huge one clearly. And you've been there now a couple of years. Like what what kind of confidence does Josh Allen bring to the huddle and just to the line of scrimmage knowing he's your quarterback?
A lot of confidence is you know, he plays the game like it's uh Like his little league, you know, he just has a lot of fun playing it. Uh he has a lot of trust in his guys, he'll throw shots. knowing that the worst thing that can happen is a incomplete pass. Um but we love it. We love ticking shots downfield. Uh he his joy rubs off on guys, you know, a lot of guys are different. I'm more serious, less uh more serious, less talkative.
What confidence does Josh Allen bring to the huddle for his teammates?
He jokes around and comes off as not so serious, but it's very serious, so I think it balances out.
Well, Thursday night we'll uh get you out of here with I guess, you know, your projection of what that's gonna be like when you guys run into the new stadium, packed house, Bills fans, Bills Mafia are gonna be going nuts. Like h what do you expect the atmosphere to be like on Thursday?
But like it's always been, even in the uh in the old stadium The old high mark, it was very electric, it was very loud. I just think uh with with this new stadium it's gonna be
