What was the format of the Haas car launch video?

Eric Morante had always been a fighter. Age 17, he became a US Marine. Age 21, he found himself with a squad stationed on a bridge in Iraq. On the morning of April 21st, 2007, a truck packed with 3,000 pounds of explosives was detonated just a few feet below them.

How do the hosts feel about the length of the Haas car launch?

In the years that followed, Eric's life was defined by PTSD, opioid dependence, and severe depression. Then came his childhood passion, boxing, to lift him out of the darkness. Therapy for me is being in the boxing ring. It's just good for your soul, good for your body. But just as Eric was reaching new heights in the world of boxing, his dream was shattered. And his words were, has anybody come up to you and talk to you about not competing tonight?

What are the hosts' first impressions of the Haas car livery?

We still got that dog and that fight in us and we just got to prove it and show the world what we can do. This is a story about a man and a community who turned pain into purpose. I'm Nikki Anderson, and from Stack, this is season four of Legacy, Defiant. All episodes are available to listen to right now. Search Defiant Legacy wherever you get your podcasts.

Hello everybody and welcome back to the B1 Podcast with Matt and Tommy. Second car launch. Well, third technically, I guess, because we had two, Red Bull and V-Carb. And we now have Haas. And first and foremost, I've got to say, could they have shortened it?

Why do the hosts believe livery changes are exciting?

Matt Gallagher 1:59
I think they could have. It was far too long.
While we were hanging around, yeah.
Matt Gallagher 2:03
Hanging around, waiting. They said 1 p.m. and they launched it at 1 p.m. And they gave us a 1 minute 13 video. And then we got on with our days. Absolutely ridiculous.
It's a proper for all the people that are in the YouTube comments all the time for every car launch going, just show the car.

What are the implications of the Toyota and Gazoo Racing partnership for Haas?

That's all we care about. They're fine. Fine. Here you go. Have the car straight away.
Matt Gallagher 2:22
I'm sorry. In the comments, they've got, show us some corporate speech.
I really want to hear from the Gazoo Racing CEO, please.
Matt Gallagher 2:30
Okay, so the livery has been revealed, of course. And look, let's get straight into what we think of it.

How do the hosts compare different car launch styles?

Matt Gallagher 2:38
Of course, there's no car launch to talk about, so we'll talk about the car immediately. And for me, it is very lovely indeed. That is a really nice looking car. I love the fact that there's more white on it. Of course, there's the TGR on the top, which I think it looks pretty funky as well. GR, actually. It kind of looks like a tea with the way in which, if you look at the side, kind of looks like the air box.
Oh, yeah.
Matt Gallagher 3:04
I see what you mean. So maybe they're doing something there.

What would a successful season look like for Haas?

Matt Gallagher 3:06
But either or. It looks awesome. I love the red pops really nicely as well against the white. And it's amazing what... cars and how good they can look when they have to paint the car more than 55% and it can't all be carbon like I remember a couple of years ago I in particular was not very happy I think to be fair a lot of people were not very happy about the fact we were just constantly seeing carbon cars this one is a very clean good looking livery
It is. I think it also says how much we just love a livery change. I think they're always more exciting when they change. You know, Red Bull is a prime example of like, same livery for 10 years, here's something a little bit different. I was already, I was kind of like preparing this for Hass and the chat to be kind of,

How does the Haas car reveal impact fan engagement?

has have had very you know safe liveries in the past and you could argue this one is quite safe um they're they're kind of like um they're they're smart they've never had like a real banger but they look like slick a lot of the time and this one does look very very slick i like the fact that they put more white on it um i would have been cool to maybe see something more crazy i was gonna say i had kind of had expectations from the toyota side of things but now i'm kind of learning as we we're kind of going on that Toyota and Gazoo Racing have kind of split now, which is very unusual because they've got the Toyota Gazoo Racing title sponsor, but now it's just Gazoo Racing and it says just Gazoo Racing on the car.
So very weird kind of situation there, but I think it's a very clean looking car and just having a little tweak is kind of what we like, isn't it, from livery season where you've still got your brand identity, they always go for the black, red and white, but it's a cool and refreshing change.
