What is the purpose of the episode and who is the guest Lynn K. Russell?
Hello everybody and welcome to another episode of Intention is Everything. I am one of your hosts. I realized the other day when I was starting this off that I always say I am your host and Cheryl is my co-host and that just seemed not democratic enough. So I'm going with this. I am one of your co-hosts, Karen Frazier, and with me as always is my good friend and co-host, Cheryl Knight-Wilson. Cheryl, you notice I've got the Knight-Wilson thing down finally after how many years have you guys been married now?
Well, quite a few now. So it's okay. Hey, you know what? You remember. I'm just happy that you remember. Thank you.
Well, occasionally I do. So Cheryl, I am going to let you introduce our guest today and I think we'll get right to it because our last podcast was just you and I talking and it was just a couple of days ago that we recorded it. So honestly, what could be new? Not much. Not
much. Yeah. And I'm excited to talk to our guests. So let's just
get
going. We're so excited to have with us today, Lynn Russell. She actually joined us back in 2015 on Paranormal Underground Radio and So if you've listened to the show over the years, you know Lynn and her work, which is extremely fascinating. Lynn has over 65 years of studying various religions and spiritual philosophies. She's researched near-death experiences for Dr. Jeffrey Long of the NDERF. And after studying 2,500 cases, Lynn became fascinated with the profound underlying spiritual knowledge brought back. The second edition of her book, The Wonder of You, What the Near-Death Experiences Tells You About Yourself, is about that knowledge and your reality. Her interest in science has helped to add profound understandings of the link between science and spirituality.
And welcome, Lynn. Thank you.
Well, thank you for such a lovely introduction.
So
excited to have you. Yeah, thank you so much for coming on the show. And I think that this is good timing for this show. I feel like a lot of people probably have death on their mind a little more in the last year than they ever have before. Would you think that's a true characterization?
Yeah. Yeah. Sadly, I think it's true. There is so much happening right now with the COVID and so on. So yes, I agree.
Yeah. And so I have always said that back many years ago when Cheryl and I first started, Cheryl, Chad and I first started working on Paranormal Underground Magazine, I always said I want to experience everything. And the near-death experience is the one thing that was the exception to that. So I can't speak from personal knowledge on near-death experiences. So I'm fascinated to hear your take because you've researched it so much. We've talked to Dr. Raymond Moody a few times. And he certainly has provided us with some insight. But what do you think, I'm going to just start right at the beginning, at the end at the beginning. What is the takeaway that can bring people comfort during difficult times like this from the near-death experience?
I think that death is not the end. That's a big one. And that death is actually a very beautiful experience. And that there is no death. It's just a word that we've made up. But that death doesn't really exist. That we just exactly continue on as we are. It's just like walking through a doorway. As a matter of fact, it's easier because there's nothing. You don't have to walk. It's just the flowing. You know, leaving the body is like silk. You know, it's just like silk across your hand. It's beautiful.
And I like hearing that. And it's certainly what I believe death is. But you don't know until you die. That's right. And so how then... Do we get to a place where we understand that death is like walking through a door as opposed to something else? Where does that all come from? How do we know that to be probably true?
Okay. Well, I have a chapter in my book called Are NDEs Real? And certainly there's a lot of confusion and information from doctors and so on that are saying things like, well, it's the breaking down of the brain or it's chemicals or whatever, but there are some things that just cannot be described, be answered, you know, questions.
