It is a big paranerd party. I know. So tonight in a little while our guest is going to be Brennan Stor. He's the author of A Strange Little Place, The Hauntings and Unexplained Events of One Small Town. And Brennan is my neighbor to the north, so I'm super excited to talk to him.

I'm excited. Because I feel like this is uh you know, I've been on the show several times and Um this one I feel like is right at my Paranerd, you know, Alley.

All right. So you want to know what happened to me this last weekend?

Stepped on a snake.
Oh, I saw that on Facebook. But It you had a life changing experience due to this snake. I did
not die. So that is somewhat life changing, right? I didn't die. And so it made me realize that maybe if I can step up on a snake and not die, that perhaps some of the things that I'm afraid of like weird owl.
Mm.
As horrible as I think they are.
What was this about? You said that You may or may not have had weird owl eyes when you stepped on the snake.
Well, you know how yeah kinda has the crazy eyes a little bit? Weird owl. Mm-hmm. I think I probably had the crazy eyes.
So that's a little meta you're afraid of Afraid of weird owl and snakes. And you had the weird owl eyes when you stepped on the snake.
Yes. And um we were up camping, which let me tell you, I do not camp. Um, but we did. We camped out at Wellington, which is, you know, the subject of two of my books, Good Haunted Location up in the mountains here. And um I slept on the ground. I went into the outhouse and after dark and didn't look to see if there were bats coming out of the toilet. So I really I I did pretty well. Yeah. I I think I'm I think I'm growing as a human being.
Wow. I know. I I still have issues with spiders and snakes. Fighters.
Are you um So you're afraid yeah, I'm afraid of snakes. So you're afraid of spiders too. So what do you do if there's a spider in the house?
Um Well. I uh Get a shoe. Or the male. Or, you know, whatever. I will tell yeah, I will tell you that um since I've, you know, become You know, I've become vegetarian in the last year or two and As I've kind of grow I don't know, spiritually. That sounds dorky to say. But um I even spiders. I'm killing spiders less and less. Thank you very much.
I put them I try to think even
though they make give me nightmares.
Yeah, I try to save them and put them outside, but I am not afraid of spiders. Although every once in a while there will be we have the wolf spiders out here. Do you have those?
Oh yes. Oh Yeah,
those things are huge and they're super fast and they can jump.
We have
yeah
ridiculous spiders that hang from all of our trees. And you know, we have a puppy dog here that we have to go walk around the house like four times a day. And I have a flashlight out constantly on all the trees. And I swear we have one giant Charlotte's Webb spider that migrates from tree to tree. Every night. It's
like some pig in the in the web. Oh
yeah. It'll be in a different tree every night. And I'm just like, Why do you torment me? Why can't you just stay in one tree?
Do you have poisonous spiders?
I'm Sure we do. We have uh is it the the black black widow or black
widows?
