En agosto de 2002 Edel fue invitado a participar en la Feria "La ciudad, un libro abierto" tocando en el Zócalo de la ciudad de México frente a más de 12 mil personas. Ahí presentó su nueva alineación en el escenario, la cual se acerca más al rock-acústico sin perder su línea de "trova-poesía" por el contenido, la banda se llamó “La falsa tortuga” y más tarde grabarían un disco del proyecto. En este concierto alternó con el cubano Carlos Varela.
