How are you guys doing?
We're trying to figure out, I think first things first, Kyler Murray's status. I know the injury report will come out later today. That's probably number one as we try to decipher who's going to be even playing quarterback. What have you seen and what's your indication of what we could expect?
I mean, my indication is that there's a little bit of verbal gamesmanship going on right now with our organization, just thinking, letting everybody know that he's, He's doing well. He is a limited participant. He's going through some of the practice stuff. But I mean, if you're asking me personally, you know, I think that it's, no chance that he plays in this game. I think it's going to be Carson Wentz and you know, for the record, I don't go to practice. So it's not like I'm watching practice. I don't know anything that is going on there. So this is all just the way I feel about things. And you know, you guys have all watched a lot of football games and when you see a player get knocked unconscious, whether or not that they feel good 15 minutes later, whether or not he seems like he's in good spirits right after the game,
How has the Vikings’ quarterback situation changed and what does Ben Leber think about Carson Wentz versus J.J. McCarthy?
I still think optically it's not a great look to put the quarterback back out there or any player out there just a week later. So I think it's very positive news that he is working through the protocol in a swift, expedited manner, but I just don't see him playing on Sunday.
Ben, let me take it to another level here because this came up early in our conversation with Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk, and I think he was referring to an Adam Schefter piece or an Adam Schefter tweet specifically about Carson Wentz. And if Carson Wentz is to quarterback, which we all probably assume he's going to, and let's say he looks good and he looks successful, is there any possibility that Carson Wentz continues to get the ball even when Kyler Murray is healthy?
No, I don't think so. I think that they know they know what they have with Carson right now. And we all hope that he goes out there and plays a spectacular game on Sunday. But this organization, this fan base and this team wants to see what it looks like with Kyler Murray as as the commander and. I think that whenever he's healthy, and let's just say that it's going to be healthy against Tampa Bay at Tampa Bay the following week, we want to see what that looks like. How does this offense differ than what we've seen out of Carson Wentz and JJ McCarthy?
What is the ceiling for Dallas Turner and is he poised for a breakout season?
Are we more explosive? Are we a little bit more conservative, but yet we can control the clock and move the chains? Are we getting the ball into Justin Jefferson's hands? Are we being dynamic with all the playmakers that we have? I mean... That's the one thing that you didn't see from Carson Wentz last game is a lot of big time plays to Justin Jefferson, but he missed on a couple of throws to Addison.
