Doing well. Everyone is very fired up for the Bulls because it's one thing to have Bryson Graham there and ready to go and his sterling reputation as a talent evaluator. It's quite another to have the number four overall pick. The Bulls moving up from nine to four. They still have that...
15th pick and a couple of second rounders it feels like uh things are smiling upon him this morning yeah and i mean i think that's one thing to emphasize obviously the lottery turned out fantastically for the bulls but one thing bryson kept pointing to was it's not just the number four pick i mean i think this is a man who's seeing the big picture seeing that the bulls Need a lot of opportunities to add talent and someone who seems very confident that they're going to get good players wherever they pick. But certainly moving up from nine to four is going to help in the first pick for sure.
Do you in your head already have a top five in terms of prospects that you like and you look at? And do you have a sense yet of how this will come down to who they might be choosing between among the top five prospects?
Well, I'm going to let the process play out. Like right now, I'm just joking. No, it's like, I found it funny that like Bryson talked about, let the process play out. And then there was like 73 mock drafts with whom the bulls were going to be taken at number four. Right. I mean, it's just hilarious, but I mean, he was asked repeatedly about the big four. I mean, everyone's had those same four players at the top of the draft board for, for months. And, and, he said that he had in his mind, you know, how he thinks his draft is going to play out, but you need to go through the process with an open mind. And I think that's what he, I don't think, I mean, I know that's what he's going to do. You talk to people that know this guy.
Well, that's kind of what he's made his bones at his talent evaluation and nailing draft picks. So, um, The other thing to keep in mind here is the Bulls, their only work, it's not like they need to, obviously they're going to do work on all four of those top guys, but that decision is not going to be made for them. Only one of those four is going to be there. Their only work is going to be, does somebody from below those top four rise in their mind to warrant a pick at number four? So doesn't Acuff Jr. rise to get to four in their mind? Because Those other, you know, three of those four are going to be gone by the time they pick. That's guaranteed. So I shouldn't say guaranteed, but likely. So that to me is where the Bulls' work lies.
You know, I think it's fascinating, Casey, to hear what he had to say to you guys after they got that fourth pick. And I was really impressed because as I'm looking at these picks and looking at the draft and how it may unfold, I was sitting here talking to David about, well, if you get a guard with the first pick, then you can get a bigger guy later on and hopefully the draft You know, a certain Spaniard from Michigan or a German from Washington is there, so you get the more size. That's not how he looks at it. He wants to take the best player who's there whenever he picks. And he doesn't try to field a team. He's trying to get players with talent.
