Well, we appreciate you doing so. And Danny, you have had a lot of thoughts on social media when it's come to watching these World Cup matches. Fox, of course, being the rights holder, the carrier of the World Cup games. What was your observation and your thoughts on just the USA team absolutely laying an egg yesterday losing to Belgium?

Danny Parkins 2:03

Yeah, massive disappointment. You know, that was awful. There's really no way to sugarcoat it. The... U.S. men's national team has this kind of glass ceiling of the round of 16. And being the host country for this World Cup and getting the draw in the group stage that we did, we were expected to go further than this. You know, they made the quarterfinals in 2002. And then every World Cup since, they've made it to the round of 16. Or not even made the World Cup at all. But those World Cup, those round of 16 losses... While they didn't score a lot of goals, they scored zero or one in every loss, they were all one-score games except for the Netherlands game where they scored a goal basically right as the game was ending to ice it.

So the U.S. was in it in all of those games. Even you go back to when we lost to Brazil, won nothing back in 1994. It was a competitive game, just lost, couldn't score. This was non-competitive from the jump. And, you know, the offense has been good enough. They led the tournament through the round of 32 in first half goals. Balligan has been amazing. But Tim Rehm looked old and slow. Matt Reese looked like an MLS goaltender going up against, you know, world-class competition. And I think, you know, ultimately, if I'm trying to be level-headed and not mad, like, in the immediate aftermath of a loss, like, where the U.S. has made progress is – we can now feel pretty confident that we can beat up on the teams below us, right?

There's 190 plus countries in the world. If the U.S. plays a country ranked in the 50s or the 70s or the 90s, I think we got a pretty good shot to feel like the U.S. can win that game and win it convincingly. But if we're the 16th ranked country in the world and we're playing a team that's the 10th ranked country in the world, how big of a gap is there still between us and them? And I think last night showed that it's still pretty wide.

Yeah, I look at this and I am obviously disappointed with the result, but I was so excited at the start of this tournament, group play, and maybe the U.S. taking a step forward offensively at least, which I think is a big key to getting more support in this country because we love offense.
