Rahimi, Harris & Grote Show
Examining Caleb Williams' strengths heading into biggest game of his career
16 Jan 2026
Chapter 1: What are the strengths of Caleb Williams as a quarterback?
The Rahimi Harrison Grody Show, middays 10 to 2 on Chicago Sports Radio 670 The Score.
This is Rahimi Harrison-Grody on 670 The Score. Unfortunately, Devin Hester was a last-minute cancellation. He said he couldn't make it.
Went to pregame warm-ups, and then something was nagging him.
Devin Hester is allowed to do that, so we will try to get Devin on another day. I know he wanted to reschedule. Devin is working on a good cause, too, so I'm sorry, guys, but Devin Hester does get a pass with us, probably for infinity. So, you know, we'll get to Devin Hester at another time.
He's earned citywide immunity a long time ago.
Precisely. Yeah. Yeah. Precisely. And in fact, I still wanted to ask him about, was he surprised? He's answered a million times, but you think I'm not asking while the Bears are in the playoffs, if he was surprised that they still decided to kick off to him? Like he's answered it 25,000 times. I don't care. I'm going to ask it 25,001.
Did I share with you guys the tidbit yesterday about Devin Hester during my update with you and Marshall and Henry Melton?
Your friend Henry.
My friend Henry. I never leave Henry out of it. Just really quick. After Richard Hightower spoke, he was asked about Devin Duvernay. He did have a couple of excellent returns last week against Green Bay, and he was kind of talking about him and how good he was and what inspires him and all this stuff. And then about 10 minutes after Richard Hightower had left, he had requested –

Chapter 2: Why is the upcoming game against the Rams significant for Caleb Williams?
I never went full Haw. I can't go full Haw. Did Haw go full move? I stopped with the H-A because mine's Harris and his is Haw.
He went full critical, but I will say this. Apparently at 640 this morning, David Haw decided that he was on board with Cairo Santos.
I did hear that. Brad Bates immediately calling him out on that.
It's okay to change your mind. Just do me a favor and don't miss the rando kicks. There's no stat for that. That's just what I called him. You know them. You know.
You're right, Layla. Spot on. Yeah, you don't want to miss a 32-yard field goal wide left.
And here's the other thing is like, yeah, there's a low trajectory there. And yes, that did unfortunately come up twice last season. And I was very irate about it. But you know what else can help with that? Not just the kicker. If you know that about your kicker, then you just put in different people to block up front, see? And then you tell them about that. So then they look for it.
And then everybody's prepared.
I think you should give a speech to the Bears special teams unit. I think that's what should happen.
I would like them, as I said, I don't want to think about it. I would like them to be in saran wrap, protected until game time. I don't want anyone bothering what's going on with special teams. That's how good they've been of late. I don't want anyone... I don't want them exposed to anything that could alter what they've been doing.

Chapter 3: How has Caleb Williams performed under pressure in past games?
Oh, I know that feeling. Not a second later did they want us in an understandable. They don't want us in there a second later. And so I asked them one question. And then after the question, I literally said, Cairo, I got follow-ups for you, but I got to go. I have to leave your locker room right now or I'm going to get in trouble. And he just laughed.
My takeaway from the whole... inside the locker room with Cairo Santos on request from Lawrence Holmes Experiences, that Grody takes requests. Of course I do. So now I'm coming up with what requests I can put in for next week after the Bears. Well, we're not there yet.
It's not 145 yet? Stop easing into prediction land.
Well, it could be a clean-out request, too.
I want to ease into what Sean McVay said about Caleb Williams. And I'm sorry if you guys just tuned in. Devin Hester, unfortunately, can't make it this week. He told us he would reschedule. We know he's good for that. Kevin Fishbane is going to join us at 1225. So fishy business is the late ad today.
You're listening to a Four Seasons Heating, Air Conditioning, Plumbing, and Electric Football Friday presented by Pottawatomie Casino Hotel and ChicagoRoofingContractors.org. We've talked a lot about the, it's not beef. It's just like the discussions with maybe some type of way.
between what the Rams have had to say this week, of course, Matt LaFleur being a former assistant of Sean McVay, and then also what the Bears are saying about the Rams. There's a lot of game recognized game. You don't even need to hear that from the coaches. You can just watch the Rams offense and the Bears offense to kind of show you that.
And Sean McVay explained in his media sessions this week, talking about Caleb Williams and what he admires about what he's doing as a quarterback.
You know, I think he's doing a great job of he can obviously make a bunch of different plays with his legs. I think he sees things well. He's got an understanding of some of the concepts that Coach Johnson's activating, gets a bunch of different playmakers involved. And, you know, it's one thing where you see him play in time and in rhythm, you know, good accuracy and anticipation.

Chapter 4: What insights does Sean McVay share about Caleb Williams' playing style?
Tom, somebody says it sounds like Tom.
A little garage action. Yeah, some of that.
Is Fox just what McVay is eventually going to sound like as he gets older and coaches longer?
No, he's got a higher pitch voice than Fox, I think.
Do your Fox again.
That's the whole problem.
Sometimes it is all a problem.
He's right about that. You know, it can be all a problem. Now I'm going to go back to something that Matt Spiegel acknowledged on Monday and brought up in talking about the game plan that the Packers had when facing Caleb Williams offensively. You notice Sean McVay said rolling out to his right first and his left. Now normally that you would just think is just somebody talking about handedness.
But I think the reason he brought up the left is because of the fourth and eighth row. Because everybody seems to understand that he has a propensity to roll out to his right. But what they don't always know is when he's flushed out of the pocket. And I think he's probably been taught that, too, when you think about it.

Chapter 5: What role does special teams play in the Bears' strategy?
Kuma's declared baseball season open. It's a lovely time where also football season is open. And yeah, this is a big day. There's a lot of guests coming up on the afternoon show, starting with Alex Bregman at Cubs convention. They'll be live there. So it is a really fun day to be here at the score on this playoff Friday.
Alex Bregman, Craig Council, Nico Horner. These are the guests. People at home's not playing around. They're diving right into Cubs convention.
That's right. So there's a lot going on there. We're going to talk about baseball a little bit later in our show. We were very heavy with the baseball talk yesterday because we carried the Alex Bregman press conference. So just know that that was part of our show, too. If you missed it, you can go back and listen on the Odyssey app.
So like we said, Spiegel and Holmes, live from 2 to 6, shared in Grand Chicago for Cubs Convention. Special guests stopping by their set. Here's your rundown today. Alex Bregman at 445. Nico Horner at 5. Craig Council is at 515. And then tomorrow, they weren't done. Listen to all the guests that David Haw and Bruce Levine are going to have on Inside the Clubhouse from 9 to noon.
This is just going to be like a sip and see. It's Anthony Rizzo, Jed Hoyer, PCA, and more. And more. All of it can be heard on the Score and the Odyssey app. Coming up next, let's continue with our...
caleb williams centric talk when it comes to the bears game on sunday ben johnson talked about his propensity for the clutch he says he's done this at usc and i appreciate that and i knew he probably did it in high school when his team wasn't dominating games but this is the nfl playoffs and you showed us that you're able to do that too so let's hear from his head coach as to why you can't count this team out next on the score
