tell you the truth, yes. It's kind of like, it just feels like something, I don't know what it is, something that has a hold of me and it's just directing me to my next path. And the thing about basketball and when you're going through your career, you always want to be around awesome people and try to just make something out of nothing. And I'm so blessed. Like, Just coming in here every day, just getting into being a coach, like, I'm so blessed. I'm so thankful for this organization to give me a chance, for Tiago to even give me a chance. Words can't explain how blessed I am and how happy I am to be back in Chicago.
Laurence Holmes 3:47
For you, throughout your career, no matter where you were, like, every roster and every fan base, like, appreciated what it is that you brought to the table. But here in Chicago, like... I'm curious of whether or not you felt that from Chicago fans and what it was like to not be the superstar. You're the guy that's there helping the superstar, in some cases being the bodyguard for the superstar. Did you feel that appreciation that Bulls fans seemingly have for you?
Taj Gibson 4:20
Without a question. One of the best things about being in Chicago around the time I got here, I got to be here around a young Derrick Rose. a young Joaquin Noah, just a whole young group of guys. I was around Kurt Heinrich. I was just around a great system as far as nurturing players. And not only that, I was around a great team of just great people because I tell people every day, a lot of my career is just being known as that guy that's always there and the different utilities. But I give a big testament to my career to my teammates always having my back.
