Uh yeah, man, I feel I feel great. I mean, you know you don't have like some nerves or butterflies or whatever you wanna call it, but I mean at the end of the day I'm a rookie man. Uh I just go out there and play. Like w what do I really ha I got stuff to lose, but what do I really gotta lose? Like they put they put the challenge to me, they put a lot on me with playing nickel and corner. And I just go out there and play.
Like just let it rip. What is that like? 'Cause w I saw you play in both positions out there today. Obviously you've been doing that in camp. How is that process going?
Uh, it's been going good. I mean, you know, I've been playing corner my like dang near my whole life. So I mean it really don't get too much different, you know, the lingo just changed. But uh as far as nickel, this is new to me. But uh at the end of the day it is just football and if you know the X's and O's of football, and if you could what DA what Dennis Allen said, if you can count the four you can play in this defense, so I mean but i it is challenging. I'm not gonna sit here and say that it's not challenging, but I mean I'm getting the groove of it as a as you can see. Uh and we just gonna we just gonna go up from here.
Your tackling looked really crisp out there. I think there was a third down play, we stopped them for for loss of and open field tackles. That's how much pride do you take in that and how did you feel out there specifically with your tackling?
Uh yes. Uh that w th that was a huge emphasis uh with me coming out this year uh in the draft, like working and tackling, working and tackling. So uh I mean then just knowing that I'm gonna play nickel and be in the box, you gotta be physical and be be able to tackle so.
What is the biggest challenge at at the nickel positions that you have found so far?
Uh run fits. I would definitely say run fits, gap schemes, uh knowing where to fit, um, knowing once you get inside of the forty or you get inside of the twenty twenty or thirty, uh just knowing where your fit is and and and different costs. Um And then just knowing where your help is, uh knowing the spacing, knowing what what the timing is gonna be. Um, but I'll say those are the are are the challenging things.
Yeah, I think, you know, the the good and the bad of the day. There was the the nice open field tackle for a loss at one point in time. He did have five tackles.
