What is the opening banter and introduction for the Bears’ Kyler Gordon episode?
Rahimi, Harrison, Grody. I love being here. Middays 10 to 2 on 104.3 The Score. What's been your message to Kyler Gordon? Get healthy.
Yeah, nothing changed there, did it, Mark Grody? This is Remy Harrison Grody on 104.3 The Score.
That's what it is until further notice.
It just gets worse with the Kobe Bryant news. It just gets worse.
It exacerbates it. You're
right. It's all a problem.
It is
all a problem, John Fox. And I have heard something about that. I heard a lot about
it. I haven't heard any of that. I didn't hear all of it. I heard a lot about most of it, but what I did hear, I did not hear any of that.
That's kind of how I feel about the Kyler Gordon situation now.
Yeah, kind of. You know, hearing those coaches, it just makes me appreciate the Ben Johnson, Dan Pompey article all the more. But anyway.
We'll get into that. Actually, we want to talk about a little bit with Clay Harbor, and we'll talk about it on the show. Clay is coming in in just a few moments, actually. Yeah, and I hope he didn't ride his bike here. Clay is known to be outside, and the rain is threatening again because that's our lives. Sox game got moved up, by the way, to 12-10. Really? Yeah, same idea. Wow. Don't be mixing in any divine intervention talk.
No, no, I would never do that. That's not in my character. That's not who I am. God did not make me that way.
Oh, goodness. Okay, so before we get off the rails again, Adam Hogue was on with Spiegel and Holmes yesterday. He of the Hogan Johns podcast over at CHGO. We love Adam.
Why do the hosts think the Bears don’t know Kyler Gordon’s recovery timeline?
Hogan Johns, actually. Yes, Johns, yes.
And he made this comparison. I wasn't ready for this comparison to the Kyler Gordon situation.
to be honest, what this feels like to me, having been in the building, gone through both situations is this Kyler Gordon situation is veered into Nate Davis territory where there, there were valid reasons why he wasn't on the field. And then it eventually just got to the point where it seems like everybody's a little fed up that the guy's not out there.
Wow.
That's the vibe you get in the building. And, and nobody is, there've been plenty opportunities for, Plenty of people, coaches, probably even some teammates, they get up there and talk up how the guy's trying to get back, how he's trying to work hard, and it's been very simple. And Ben said it on the first day of training camp, right? The message is get healthy. And so far that hasn't happened. So, you know, I, my sense guys from just the conversations I've had is that I don't think the bears really know. I know fans are getting anxious and they're getting mad at us. Cause why don't you ask more questions? Why don't you get more on this? I don't think the bears know what the timeline is right now for him.
So if they don't know, I don't know how we're supposed to know. And I think they're just kind of moving on at this point and doing their best, assuming that they're not going to have Kyler. And if they do at some point, great. But the reality is, even if he does come back, how this has gone the past, what, two years now or so, can you really count on him to stay healthy even once he comes
back? Okay. Are we Nate Davis got signed here? And then the, the Nate Davis breaking point moment for me, I know you have a different one. Mark was when they actually needed him to start. And then he claimed to have back spasms.
Yeah. Good memory.
That was at the Patriots game.
That I don't remember. I'm depending on your memory right now.
Okay, but that was the Nate Davis breaking point. And there have been articles about it where he actually was asked to start. They actually needed him finally. And he claimed to have back spasms. And when I say claim to have, even that I think is doing a lot of work. I'm being kind. And that was when I feel like I rarely say somebody's quit on a team. You don't hear me say, oh, they've lost the clubhouse. They've lost the locker room. I don't say stuff like that because I don't really think it's the case a lot of the time.
It's a dangerous game to play. It's also
like we're all grown adults here. Nobody needs to be really told what to do to that extent.
