This just in. Patrick. Manelli. Patrick Manelli, the longest tenured player in Chicago Bears history.
I just want to thank the Bears organization for an incredible 16 years.
Score football, pre- and post-game show co-host.
It's going to be what it is today. The ball is going to be wet. It could be differently wet every time, depending on how the referee spotted the ball. Spotted the ball. Hold it. Hey,
don't do any pointing after that one.
All right, let's be professional here. All right, take two. When the referee places the ball on
the
ground, it can be moisture on the football. And sometimes it can be a different spot. All right, guys. Easy.
What did Patrick Mannelly say about his 16‑year Bears career and why is he on the show?
Grow up. He even has a signature beer. Long snapper IPA. The can artwork's me long snapping a ball on top of an El Camino. I have an El Camino, so the artwork's great. The beer's great.
Patrick Medley with Rahimi and Grody on 104.3 The Score.
He is Patrick Manley. He is the longest tenured Baird. He is a highly successful human being. As we welcome you back to Rahimi and Grody on the score, and we do welcome in Patrick Manley. Yet, Patrick, this radio station, the media, forces you to get into the mud box with the rest of us. There's something about us that will just reduce a man, no matter how much credibility he has. And that's what happened to you. And I was listening to that live, and
you were
hilariously trying
to get back on track. My co-hosts need to grow up. I know. It's a them problem, not a me problem.
Yeah, Patrick, first-time caller, long-time listener. Why do we need to grow up exactly? No,
I'm never going to grow up. Listen, I'm 51 years old, but I'm 32 years old between the years. So I'm going to stay this for the rest of my life, and it's been a lot of fun.
Hell yeah, man. And you look great, by the way. I don't know if you get enough credit. It looks like you're one of those people who didn't necessarily look like you needed to lose weight, but it looks like you lost just a little bit and tightened up the biceps a little bit. Am I wrong about that, seeing you on
television? Yeah, I've lost about 40 pounds. Oh, my God. Kind of changed my lifestyle. You know, I have long snapper IPA, but I have quit drinking for over a year now. Oh, congrats, man. Maybe we can get into a story about that. That just has to deal more with my concussions that I've had in the past. I did a brain scan and found out the future might not be bright if I continue drinking like I was a retired athlete. Interesting. I said, you know what? I'm done. I'm done drinking. And I feel a lot better. Lost a lot of weight. I sleep a lot better and all that kind of stuff. That's great. There's the synopsis.
Congrats, man. Life is a lot less stressful in so many different ways when you
don't
have to drink. For sure. I
mean, I get it. I still like to go out. Like I said, I'm still 32. I still have fun and enjoy the social life and stuff like that, but just no more alcohol.
Amen, brother. All right, let's get into the real stuff.
Hold on real quick before we get started. Sure. I'm a little upset today because I guess Kyle Brandt does not like me.
Wow.
Because I tweeted out there, bump, you know, the Madden curse. So I heard that in your opening today. I didn't listen to you guys yesterday. So I guess I'm one of those people that was having fun with the Madden curse. So sorry, Kyle. Wait a minute. Wait a
minute. You said screw the Madden curse, basically.
That wasn't the exact word, but yeah, that was the concept. All
right. Well, so you guys should be aligned because that's what he was saying too, right? So you're
essentially... I
read it as people talking about the Madden curse, but... Yeah, I was just having fun with it because I just thought about it because, you know, whatever.
I will say, okay, so I did think that he was saying that Madden curse discussion, he was downplaying it clearly. But then you said it, and I thought you gave it some legitimacy. So I'm kind of in the middle here.
Okay.
But you were joking, you said. I
was joking, yeah. I was joking.
