Okay, so tell me what you were telling me right before you came on, because this indeed was a wildly active trade deadline.
Yeah, it's different than, I would say, the month before the deadline. I'd come on with you guys and say, yeah, I just don't know what the market's going to look like. And you're starting to think, talking to people, it's going to be a rather boring and disappointing trade deadline. But once the Tigers had made the decision that they were going to sell, And you knew Tarek Skubal was on the market and teams were going to make a pitch to try to land him, them being the Los Angeles Dodgers, how it ended up. You knew that teams had to pivot, go to their plan B, go to backup plans. And as always, as you get to the deadline and you have teams that look at where they are and they say, OK, we're not in it this year.
Are there things that we can do to augment our roster for 2027? And that ended up happening even in a year also, as we've talked about, where you had teams that weren't going to compete in 2026 but planned to compete in 2027. So you look at a team like the Toronto Blue Jays that say, you know what? We were in the World Series in 2025. We had a bad season in 2026. Guys get hurt. Guys have underperformed. But in 2027, we still have a lot of those pieces that help lead us to the World Series. So we're going to go and use our chips to go get a guy like Jose Soriano under club control and add him into a rotation that already has Dylan Cease, Trey Savage, Cody Ponce coming back from a torn ACL next year.
And they're looking to be competitive again. But a very active, steady trade deadline, especially in that last 60 to 90 minutes.
We gave out our grades for the Cubs and the White Sox and their deadlines. I'm curious as to what your grades are for those two teams.
So I think when you look at the Cubs, we'll just start because in honor of Ian Happ being here. I have a smaller crowd than Ian Happ, but we appreciate the crowd.

And to me, and I talked about this different places since the deadline, I believe they had the best trade deadline of any team in Major League Baseball, and that includes the Los Angeles Dodgers. And you guys know how critical I am. Like, I'm not easy to give out the A pluses on things. Yeah, you're mean. No, I'm the mean one. You're the dreaded professor. I'm the only one who gave a B plus. The reason I say that is this. I think Jed went into the deadline with a checklist of things that he needed to accomplish.
