How does Tim Doyle assess Illinois' performance in the tournament?
I'm actually outside today, guys. And if you're watching on Twitch, you obviously see the blue sky behind me. But what I've learned, Rahimi, Marshall, is if I'm tan, it's actually a two-point move in how much better looking I am. I'm like a six in real life. But if I'm tan, I move to an eight. So once the weather starts to turn a little bit, it's usually the best season for Tim Doyle. You know you sound like a middle-aged white woman when you say that, right? Hey, we all have strengths. Now, when I was younger, Marshall, I know you didn't have to do this, but maybe Rahimi did. I would hit the tanning beds during the season when I was playing at Northwestern. Don't tell this story. I felt like if I was tan, I was more athletic.
I felt better on the court. But I did used to bring like a Playboy bunny with me, like a sticker, and get like a Playboy bunny sticker like burned into my hip. So don't judge me, okay? I was a product of the times.
First of all, you did not have a Playboy Buddy sticker. I do have friends who did, and we did always say, and I still believe this, I'm not a tanning bed girl per se, but I like to be outside because if I can't tone it, I tan it. So guess what I end up doing a lot of? Laying out outside. Because one battle is easier to fight than another.
Exactly. Marshall, you don't have that problem. For us, lighter-skinned folks, okay, the tan is a huge difference. And if you recognize, Marshall, like, hey, your tan looks good, us lighter-skinned folks, we feel better about it. You're like, ah, thanks so much. Because it takes time, it takes effort in order to move up those two points.
Hey, hey, first of all, everybody gets darker in the summer. Like, that is a real thing. I have seen friends of... that any any type of melanin in your skin you get darker in the summer the pursuit of melanin is crazy the tanning beds were real he's as a member of uh the worst generation aka the frosted tips and the whale tails and whatnot the white stitch jeans and the bootlegs tim is correct about this there was a lot of effort given to tanning the people paid for that is true we will allow it my mom got mad at me and she's like i she's like what are you doing
Like, honestly, I was watching Illinois last night, and I was like, the only thing missing for these guys is a tan. Like, because they got a lot of white guys on that squad. I mean, this is a tournament of exciting whites. And I can say that because I was one time an exciting white, okay? And when I go to Jewel or Binnie's, there's a section in the liquor store for white wines, and it says exciting whites. So Illinois has got a lot of exciting whites. I love their matchup against more exciting whites in Iowa. That was an awesome game off. They beat another exciting whites in Nebraska. I think Iowa has absolutely no chance in this game. No chance? Yeah, I think Illinois is like way too big, way too skilled.
Wagler is a difference maker because he's going to end up being a top 12 type of pick. When I went to the Northwestern-Illinois game, And I brought my son and we sat in the stands at Welsh Ryan Arena. I remember thinking, this feels like the varsity versus the JV. Not from a talent perspective, but just from an overall size perspective. You know, Merkovich is huge. He's a grown man.
