I'm doing great. I'm doing great. Probably like everybody, a little bum still, but uh Yeah, coming out on the other side, you know, starting the seasonal depression, but yeah, coming out on the other side.
But this season, the way it ended, how different do you feel about the Bears organization today than you did a year ago? By the way, it's it's happy Ben Johnson Day because this is the day that he was hired one year ago today.
Yeah, I think I I I think you've nailed it. So i i it was it was funny because I I have become so attached to the Bears and how much I love 'em now. But here's what I'll say, and this is kind of how I wrapped up my breakdown this week was If you were to ask me what you just said, hey, how much more I'm so uh I can't even measure how much more optimistic I am that they are in a substantially better spot. Right. I I feel like you kind of you know, I I feel like unless you're a part of the national media and you you don't watch the Bears that much, I I think you you know for sure, hey, Caleb obviously trending in the right direction from what he started at oper just operating this offense week one to the divisional round.

feels like we've got the guy when you watch Ben. What I did say though was I said I just don't want to take it for granted, right? I I d I don't want to just assume Okay, hey, we're gonna be back in the playoffs again. Right. This is a huge you know, you gotta climb the mountain every single year. And I do think we won a ton of close games. So to me, it's like, you know, I I I'm cautiously optimistic. I i it's hard for me to sit here and say, man, I for sure see that it's gonna be the same next year because, you know, we we saw it with a bunch of good teams in the NFL this year where you come in, you feel good about all their pieces, and you go, oh shoot, hey, they didn't make the playoffs. But compared to where I was last season, this is it's it's night and day.
I think we have all the pieces to do it. You know, you also think to yourself, man, can we spend a little bit more on defense here? Is there a chance that the defense comes back substantially better? Because what we saw in that game against the Rams was substantially better than I think what we've seen all year. So to me, I I think there's a ton of optimism. Obviously, it's it's you know cautious because again, that the NFL is such a finicky thing where some years you're great and it feels like you have the same roster and then you struggle the next. Um, but the two key pieces I think you've got to feel great about.
Yeah, absolutely. The optimism is for sure there. And I thought What throw could be more theatrical than the fourth and eighth throw to Roma Dunze in the Packers game? Well he follows that up with Caleb Williams does running twenty some odd yards behind the line of scrimmage before the prayer of a throw to Col Komet in the corner of the end zone. That's just one of the amazing things he does.
