Chapter 1: What does it mean to be in the Top Tribe?
This is The Top, where I interview entrepreneurs who are number one or number two in their industry in terms of revenue or customer base. You'll learn how much revenue they're making, what their marketing funnel looks like, and how many customers they have. I'm now at $20,000 per talk. Five and six million. He is hell-bent on global domination. We just broke our 100,000 unit sold mark.
And I'm your host, Nathan Latka. Coming up tomorrow, you're going to hear from Mad Meanie CEO, Dean Levitt. He's going to walk through how he did 500 grand per month in revenue and then sold to GoDaddy right before they went public. Okay, Top Tribe, good morning, good morning. It is here on November 3rd, you know, and I'm loving it today.
Gorgeous weather outside, and my guest today you're going to love. His name is Christo Hall. And Christo, you're coming in from Australia, right? Yes, all the way from Australia. All the way from Australia. Now, Christo was a surfer, actually still is a surfer. You've surfed the last three days straight. Yes.
Now you have a very cool thing called Basic Bananas, and you're really, really taking things to the top. So I want to know, Christo, are you ready to take us to the top? I'm ready. All right, man.
Well, yeah, it depends what your top is. I'll see how top it is. Definitely.
Well, let's do this. So tell me more. Tell me what you're focused on selling last month. What's your business?
Yeah. Okay. So we sell marketing support, like marketing consulting and marketing education to small business owners, like your local small business. Like it might be your local accountant, chiropractor, karate school or whatever. those kind of businesses, predominantly in Australia. We have some online programs as well. But the real backbone of our business is selling like a year-long program.
We'll do introductory workshops, sell a year-long program, and we'll basically hold hands with the business owner to go build up their marketing, build their brand, get more clients through the door.
Okay, so let's talk about the year-long program. So what's it called and what are people buying when they buy a program?

Chapter 2: How did Christo Hall transition from surfing to entrepreneurship?
When I go to the landing page, what are you seeing?
Yep. Okay. So if they're buying the Clever Bunch, it's 12 months of support and they'll come to a small group workshop once a month, group of 15, where we're almost like a mastermind, but we have very much have an agenda for them that we're working through.
You know, we have a big manual and step-by-step, very sequentially structured program to basically pull apart and review all of their marketing and update and do new things. So we'll have the face-to-face workshop a month, then they'll get support from us via webinars. once a week, an online forum where they can ask any questions and get all their stuff reviewed.
So tell me about the last customer that signed up for this. What was their name and why did they sign up specifically? Or the last one you remember, the last one you remember.
Yeah, I've been surfing the last three days. My team's been looking at it.
I love this, I love this.
Actually, here's a really cool one that just signed up with us. just that I was dealing with just had an intro call kind of with as soon as I actually hear from by Skype and They're called the chocolate yogi they manufacture Organic, you know, I think it's gluten free chocolate these little yogi bars. It's pretty cool That's why they popped out for me because I love that kind of stuff.
They have some really cool brand And what is they is it was she the business owner couple?
Oh There's a couple. What are their names? They're a couple. They're a team. It's Ed and... Okay, Ed.

Chapter 3: What is the Clever Bunch program and how does it work?
You can sell them for a profit. So it's very like programmed, the structure. And we've got a lot of resources that they get throughout that time. And then they get us. It's basically like we'll get them together in a group, show you how to do it. We'll help you with the time. We've got you there. And then they'll go away and implement. And then they can kind of get online and we'll review it.
Okay, and so is there a membership site? Are they getting a password and logging on?
Membership site, Facebook closed group. Yeah, a membership site with all sorts of resources and Q&A happening on there all the time.
Now the Top Tribe loves going in. They listen to guests and we have so many people listening. Ink just called it the number one new business podcast. So it's really, really great. We're excited about that. But they love going to the URLs of these courses to like reverse engineer them.
Yeah, yeah. How can people find this course? I'll go to basicbananas.com and everything's sitting there.
That was basicbananas.com.
Yeah. Oh, yeah. Bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S. Right?
I can never spell unless that... Who sung that song? Some crazy... Yeah, who was that? Bananas.
B-A-N-A-N-A-S. Who was that? Like a Spice Girls? No, no.

Chapter 4: What are the pricing options for the Clever Bunch program?
I've already had a trip, you know, went snowboarding at the start of the year in Switzerland, went to the Maldives for a few weeks.
And now there are waves threatening our feet, there's sand getting on our phones, and there's beautiful people walking around everywhere. It's nice.
It's very nice. This is very California right now. For an Australian, we're living the California during this minute.
Yes, these are real tans we're looking at, not spray tans, right? Yeah, exactly.
All right, very good. So that, we do, we have... And I believe because we built it as programs, it's allowed us to still surf. Like, I still surf every day.
Surf. He's saying surf, not serve. But he also surfs. Oh, surf. But, like, surfing way more.
Surfing waves. Not windsurfing. It's wavesurfing, you know, riding waves in the ocean on a surfboard. Yeah. So I think because we have the programs and the structure and the systems that then our team can deliver certain parts, look after lots of things. Like I just had to the other day run a webinar. It was nine o'clock here with the time difference. That's fine.
And other than that, I'm just kind of like doing bits and pieces when I want.
So over the past 12 months, you've done two to three million dollars of revenue of this 12 grand per year program. How much is it costing you to get a new $12,000 customer? when you spend money on ads, for example.

Chapter 5: How much revenue did Christo generate in the last 12 months?
just called it number one. There are literally millions of you guys tuning in. So we're going to keep growing it, having great guests on like Christo, who went from, we'll say, surfer guy to spending 10. Surfer dude. Surfer dude to putting bums in seats for $50 and turning it around and making them spend $12,000. You've done over $2 million over the past 12 months.
Christo, thanks for taking us to the top. Thank you for having me. You bet, man. If you like this show, Top Tribe, you're going to love my show yesterday with Wes Schaefer. He has seven kids and does 500 grand a year in revenue. Go listen now.
