EP 458: 1200 Pay Her $47/Mo, Will do $2M This Year with Boom Social CEO Kim Garst
25 Oct 2016
Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
This is The Top, where I interview entrepreneurs who are number one or number two in their industry in terms of revenue or customer base. You'll learn how much revenue they're making, what their marketing funnel looks like, and how many customers they have.
Chapter 2: How did Kim Garst's revenue grow from $3,000 to over $56,000 per month?
I'm now at $20,000 per top. Five and six million. He is hell-bent on global domination.
Chapter 3: What is the structure of Kim Garst's 3-lane sales funnel?
We just broke our 100,000-unit soul mark. And I'm your host, Nathan Latka. Okay, Top Tribe, this week's winner of the 100 bucks is none other than Derek Rodenbeck. He is an artist and he's looking to increase his revenue.
If you want your chance to enter and to win 100 bucks each Monday on the show, simply subscribe to the podcast on iTunes now and then text the word Nathan to 33444 to prove that you did it. Guys, a little CEO weapon for you. I hate going back and forth via email to set up a meeting time.
Chapter 4: What conversion rates are Kim's landing pages achieving?
You know, you gotta send 12, 13 emails, go between your inbox and your calendar. It's a pain in the butt. I started using nathanlatka.com forward slash assistant, totally free, which I loved.
Chapter 5: How does Kim utilize Facebook ads to drive traffic?
I reached out to the founders and said, you should pay me five grand. I'll make you a sponsor on the podcast. They did. I'll tell you more about the tool and how I negotiated the deal later on in the episode. But for now, check it out.
Chapter 6: What strategies does Kim use to retain customers in her continuity program?
nathanlatka.com forward slash assistant, totally free. Nathan Latke here, and this is episode 458. Coming up tomorrow morning, you're going to learn from George Vandarian. He magically makes paper disappear and is doing $2 million per year in revenue already with his company, AMI Paperless. Stop, drive, good morning.
Chapter 7: What is the average customer value and acquisition cost for Kim's business?
I gotta tell you, I have a big smile on my face this morning because the one and only Kim Garst is joining us. She was the second episode ever on the podcast and she's now coming on again a little over a year later. Those of you that don't know Kim, she's the best-selling author of Will the Real You Please Stand Up, Show Up, Be Authentic, and Prosper in Social Media.
She's also the CEO of Boom Social, a social selling training and consulting company that helps businesses of all sizes leverage social and digital marketing strategies to increase their traffic, leads, and sales. Now those of you that know her know that she is internationally recognized as a thought leader in the social media space.
Chapter 8: What tools does Kim recommend for digital marketing and team communication?
Forbes named her as one of the top 10 social media power influencers and she regularly contributes to entrepreneur.com, and the Huffington Post, amongst many other outlets. Her own blog, kimgarst.com, is one of the top social media resources in the world, and most importantly, she's living in Tampa with her husband and her two little fur babies. Kim, are you ready to take us to the top?
I am ready. Let's do this, Nathan.
So just over a year ago, it was episode number two, I remember, we had talked about how you'd grown your $47 per month membership site to many, many customers, and it was driving you about $23,000 per month in revenue. You've made a lot of progress on that. Where is that now?
Well, basically, that was one of our income streams, and that's still true today. Our continuity program is a huge focus for us because it's nice to... One, to have a continuity program because you wake up on the first day of every month and you know you can count on a certain chunk of income without launching a product. So that's kind of a super nice feature of having a continuity program.
To answer your question directly, in the timeframe that, since the last time I was a guest to today, because these numbers are as of this morning, we're now generating $56,494 a month in our continuity program. That's about a 245% increase since the last time I was on the top.
That's great. And you guys are going, why does she know the exact number down to the dollar? And that's because, Kim, what did you tell me before the call?
I said, listen, I'm talking to Nathan today. I told my team this. I said, you have got to get me the numbers. I am not going to get on there and have him grill me and not know my stuff.
That's so funny. So over 56 grand for a month in revenue. And for people that want to actually follow Kim, this program, as you talk about it, what's the link? Where's the top of the funnel for this?
Well, you can find it on my website at kimgarst.com. We call it the Boom Social Inner Circle. And essentially, it's kind of for beginners who are trying to get off the ground as it relates to kind of the marriage. you have to have some digital marketing pieces and parts in play too.
