Chapter 5: What metrics are important for SaaS businesses like Webinar Ninja?
So yeah, I mean, you have to keep it entertaining. You got to keep it lively. You also got to keep the energy up. No one wants to come to learn in a boring environment.
Yep. No, you're absolutely right. So I want to get right into one of these categories fast. So here's my question. You've got Webinar Ninja. You've got the podcast.
Chapter 6: How does Omar manage sponsorship deals for his podcast?
I think you probably did an event for Webinar Ninja as well. Which one of these is generating the most revenue for you? And that's where we'll focus. Right now, I would say Webinar Ninja is probably our biggest revenue maker. Okay, great.
Chapter 7: What challenges has Webinar Ninja faced in its growth?
So let's focus on that. Let me just quickly, though, because we had Alex Bloomberg on back in a past episode where he kind of articulated how he's landing Ford and some of these big guys for his Gimlet shows, which I'm sure you're familiar with. That was episode 164 at NathanLatka.com forward slash the top 164. But just give us real quick some rapid-fire questions.
You're over 600 or 500 episodes, right, for the $100 NBA show? Yeah, like 555 now. Wow.
Chapter 8: What is Omar's philosophy on funding and growth?
Dude, congratulations. That's intense. What year did you launch it in? 2014, so August of 2014. Okay, got it. And obviously it's daily show, so 365 times two, you'll be approaching two years here before you know it, right? Yep. Okay, cool. And you're, again, it's a daily show. We mentioned in the intro, you're getting about 50,000 downloads per day.
So it's actually, I mean, this has to be one of the top, maybe 1% shows in terms of number of downloads. Do you know if that's accurately false? I mean, true?
Um, I don't know everybody else's numbers, but I just, uh, yeah, I mean, I, I know that, um, I did a little research myself cause I wrote an article about, um, the truth about getting sponsorships for podcasts and, uh, and you know, you're, you're about right. About 1%, maybe around 1.5% of podcasts out there are able to take on sponsors because. because of our numbers.
You have to have a certain number of downloads and obviously an audience to listen to. Not to say that if you have a small audience, you can't get sponsorship, but in terms of making it an actual revenue stream.
Is this the one you wrote back in May, what you really need to know about getting sponsorships for your podcast?
Yeah.
Okay, great. Yep. Top trap. We will link to that in the show notes. Okay. For Omar's show here at NathanLacka.com forward slash the top two, five, two. And I know back in that May article, I'm going from memory here, but I think you said something like some of the podcasts make north of 30,000 per month in sponsorship revenue.
How many sponsors are you currently working with and what are you doing per month just on the show before we transition to Webinar Ninja?
Yeah.
