Switzerland's men's national ice hockey team just announced the big addition to their roster for the 2026 Winter Olympics. San Jose Sharks forward. Philippe Courachev has been selected to represent Team Switzerland at the Milano Cortina Games.
This will be his first Olympic appearance. The Olympics are scheduled from February 6 to 22 in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy.
Chapter 2: Who is Philipp Kurashev and why is he important for Switzerland's Olympic hockey roster?
Khrushchev comes off a strong showing at the 2024 World Championships, where he helped Switzerland earn silver with two assists in eight games. He's no stranger to international play, suiting up for Switzerland at the Worlds in 2022, 2021 and 2019. Over 32 career tournament games, he's racked up 15 points, including three goals and 12 assists.
This season, Khrushchev has lit it up with the Sharks, playing 31 games and tallying six goals and nine assists. He earned NHL Third Star of the Week honors on November 3rd after a five-game point streak with four goals and four assists. the 6-foot, 190-pound native of Munsingen, Switzerland, signed as a free agent with San Jose on July 1, 2025.
