Well, it's alright Riding around in the breeze Well, it's alright
Good morning, everyone. Welcome. It's Wednesday, the 29th day of July. We've got a nice stack of a cafe menu for you. Darcy Wilson, the recently signed up St Kilda young gun, will join us. Andrew Russell's here for Wellness Wednesday. George with a big announcement. Georgie Samios. Has he been away since I've been away? No, well, he hasn't been on air, but he hasn't been away. No, but he's been working on something. Oh, he's been working on a lot of things. A lot of things. He's blending. That's what he's doing. He's got to join us, get ready for that announcement. Little Troy, the number one voice in the greyhound racing, is going to give us an update on Johnny from Epping and, of course, Your calls and text messages are welcome always on this Wednesday.
As I say good morning to Tim the Wisp Watson. Good morning to you, buddy. How are you? Good, buddy, boy. Second day up. How did you bounce out of bed this morning, my little friend? I didn't bounce. I was cooked last night by the time I got home. No breakfast, no dinner, straight to bed. No, what about a bowl of soup? No dinner, straight to bed. Well, when I was talking to you yesterday, I could hear some chop, chop, chopping in the background going on. I said, what are you doing? You said, I'm making some soup for the rest of the week. Yeah, I did do that. What sort of soup was it? Minestrone. What do you put in your minestrone? A lot of veg. Yes. A lot of veg. That's a good start. Some nice chicken stock, some passata-ish type stuff with herbs.
Right. What else? You put a little bit of bacon. Bacon and onion with a good knob of butter just to get that going. Then the celery, then some broad beans, some carrot, some zucchini, some cauliflower. Okay. Do you put any pasta in? A can of baked beans. Oh, baked beans are good. Straight in. No pasta. Do you put a little bit of pasta? No. What about a little bit of risotto in there as well? No. That's a nice little mix if you put a little bit of that in. It is, but you don't need that if you've got the nice health. A bit of curry powder? Yes, good liberal splash and a good splash of Worcestershire sauce. What about some potato? What about some chopped up potato? I actually found a potato that I did chop up nice.
That gives a little bit of a creamy sort of a feel to it. Yeah, it does. Oh, it's nothing.
How do Gary and Tim discuss meal prep and share a popular minestrone recipe?
And I'll tell you what else I put in. A can of corn kernels. Oh, yeah, nice. Yeah, it gives a nice little bit of unexpected crunch when you're in there amongst it. So to have that massive, big, big Tupperware sort of bowl. Actually, I don't use the Tupperware. No, you don't use plastic in your house anymore. I use glass. To have that there ready on standby is a joy.
Nice.
It's a joy. Nice. And we don't do politics on this program, but we had a change of premier yesterday. Just a little thought off the top of your head this morning? As you were. Right. As you were. He's a caretaker sort of in a way. Josh Fraser. Is it a tougher job being the caretaker of the Victorian state than it might be of, say, Carlton or Essendon? We don't do politics on this show. You know that. I know. I've already had that conversation this morning. Are you not going to go down there at all? You're not going to give me anything on it? No. Were you surprised that old Christmas took over from Jacinta yesterday or not? Or you saw it coming? No. Well, you read the wind and once all the political journos start saying this is about to happen, then you know it's about to happen.
And despite the fact that old mate said he's got to look his daughter in the eye and say there's no way I'm going to challenge Jacinta. Yeah, everything's subject to change. Of course it is. You know who called this last Friday? Who? Eddie McGuire called it last Friday, called the day that it was going to happen too. He said next Tuesday there'll be a change of Premier in the state. I think you'll find there was a few. He needs to be given his flowers this morning. I think you'll find there was a few that were calling it, and the day, and the time, and the hour.
