very well, thank you. Yes, nice bit of a home week for me. Yes. So uh yeah, really lovely to be back at Wentworth. Always uh is great to be here and um yeah, lots of fun memories for me. Uh uh of course. The place
is looking resplendent. It must be the greenest grass in England at the moment. It is looking absolutely gorgeous, Wentworth. Lots to get into. We will be chatting to Heiler more very shortly. Justin Rose is on the way too. Justin Rose aiming, like Heiler did 20 years ago, to win on home soil. And we've had a lot of that recently. For the fourth time in five weeks, it was an emotional victory on home soil with Shane Larry winning the Irish Open by eleven. Yes, eleven shots. Absolutely. Absolutely extraordinary, we will discuss all of that. But there really is only one place to start this week. The Solheim Cup is back in European hands after a phenomenal performance by Anna Norkfist's twelve heroes in Holland.
And I caught up with commentator Richard Kaufman, who had a front seat for all the drama for a full debrief. The Solheim Cup is back this side of the Atlantic. A remarkable week at Bernardes, gripping from start to finish. Enormous congratulations to Anna Norkfist and everyone, not just the 12 players, the 12 caddies, all the vice captains, but the backroom team, all the LET staff, because it really does take a village. Devastated that I couldn't be there for it. But one man who was, and he is looking resplendent in his Solheim Cup scarf. I'm having to meet with my rider. Cupscarf was Richard Kaufman. Richard, what a week. Just what a week. Yeah, the Solheim Cup, Jamie always delivers. Look, lots to dissect and we may jump around and not necessarily do it in chronological order.
Uh but the first two days couldn't have been tighter. Tied at 2 2 after the first session, tied at 4 4 after the second session, tied at 8 8 after the fourth session, i.e. the end of day two, after some Jennifer Cup show heroics and a few beers on the team USA bus. We'll get to that. Uh all of which set us up For a single singles showdown on Sunday with the Solheim Cup right in the balance. Charlie Hull led from the front and provided the first blue point. The incomparable Carlotta Saganda, Signora Solheim Cup, provided the point which sealed it, but lots going on in between those two matches. Richard, just to kick off, so tight all day, Friday and Saturday, but at no point on Sunday did it ever. feel like Europe weren't gonna win the Solim Cup.
There was blue on the board early. It kinda just stayed blue throughout. It felt like the US were always playing catch up on Sunday.
Well as you know, Jamie, this is the first time I've worn a scarf uh that's not black and white. And being a Fulham fan, you always fear the worst and expect the worst. So when Alison Lee started turning things around in her match against Esther Henselide, and when things just started to tighten up for Julia Lopez, Ramirez and Nana Madsen's game. There was about a five, ten minute period where I thought You know what? You know, Europe have to win. Six and a half points here. There could be a way out of it because, you know, Alison Lee an incredible performance turning it around against Henselite. I know Henselite had a bit of bunker trouble that helped her out, but still Lee was fantastic.
