Wait, so what have you been up to since you've announced your retirement?
I've been doing a lot of stuff with Manchester City because I'm part of the Legends Club with obviously Micah and Paul Dickoff. So we've done a lot of work in the communities and obviously representing the games with the partners. And I've been starting with a lot of media. I've done a bit for BBC and quite a bit for Sky as well at the minute. What did you say? No, don't repeat it!

Do you think some of those Liverpool players were feeling a little bit of pressure going into that game? Obviously, three losses.
I think after last season, most definitely, but the gap in general is far more superior than it was last year. So to kind of throw that away, that would have to be some doing for both parties, really. You'd need Liverpool to lose nearly six games on the bounce and Man City to win six games before anything could really be that significant in that change.
It's done, but at Sky Sports, we need to keep it exciting.
Yeah, definitely. As a City fan now and an old City player, the worst thing would be to give them the Guard of Honour. I think that would kill, do you know what I mean? After two years of dominating and then to give it up to Liverpool, who for some reason, Manchester fans, Man City and Man United, hate Liverpool fans. So to actually have to give them the Guard of Honour would be a bit hurtful, for me anyway as well.
I've been speaking to Liverpool fans yesterday about, you know, obviously the loss and not going on with it. We don't care. As long as we just pick up that trophy, we really don't care. Even if we didn't go this season unbeaten.
Yeah, I would be the same as them as well. Like if they haven't done it for Liverpool, it's like, how long has it been? Since 1980s or something like that? They haven't lifted a trophy. So for them to lift it now... in the stage as well after Man City's been dominating for like the last four years pretty much. It's a great result for them really.

Oh, he's throwing it back. That is a good debate.
Best manager you've ever played for?
Yeah, I'd have to give it to Mourinho. Obviously, my time at Chelsea wasn't just cut and dry and very simple, so there was a lot of ups and downs, but not at one point did I ever feel like I wasn't part of the team or that I was just never going to get a chance to play again. So the way he coached and his tactical side of things, I really enjoyed.
He doesn't mind having a pop-up players in the press.
Did he ever have a pop at you? No, it was normally behind closed doors. But as a player, you should be able to deal with things like that. Like he's just as passionate about winning and losing as say a player would if A player's not happy with us on the pitch, Alex will tell you, you'll shout at them, you'll scream at them.
