Chapter 1: What were the highlights of Crystal Palace's 3-0 victory over Arsenal?

1.769 - 31.168 Claudio Ranieri

What a night for Sam Allardyce.

0

32.6 - 55.987 David Jones

Three home wins on the bounce, a 3-0 triumph over Arsenal. 17 attempts, 11, 6-3 on target. Arsenal without an effort on target in the second half. Very little response from them. 28 possession from Crystal Palace, the second lowest of the season, but it mattered not a jot. He's done their boost of staying up. Absolutely no harm at all.

0

56.388 - 62.538 David Jones

Claudio, was this a case of Crystal Palace being extremely powerful and strong tonight, or Arsenal being weak?

0

62.738 - 64.521 Claudio Ranieri

Yes, no weak Arsenal.

0

Chapter 2: How did Sam Allardyce influence Crystal Palace's performance?

64.661 - 77.047 Claudio Ranieri

I think the strength, the mentality won on the techniques, but also the technique of Crystal Palace players are very, very high. How much did they deserve it, Jamie?

0

78.008 - 95.655 Jamie Carragher

Thoroughly deserved it. It could have been more. An embarrassment for Arsenal on the night, but we shouldn't forget. You know, the night we'd speak about Crystal Palace, I'm sure, first, but we'll come to Arsenal. But a typical Sam Allardyce performance, I think Claudio got it right when he was talking about the mentality and intensity. Mi technique! And that was the massive case tonight.

0

96.457 - 102.135 David Jones

Delighted to say that Andros Townsend, who scored the first goal for Crystal Palace tonight, is waiting to speak to us.

0

Chapter 3: What tactical decisions did Crystal Palace make against Arsenal?

102.236 - 107.713 David Jones

Congratulations, Andros. Yes, you looked straight down the camera at me. And tell us what you made of that this evening.

0

108.605 - 119.934 Andros Townsend

I think it was an incredible victory. The boys are full of confidence at the minute. We went to Stamford Bridge a few weeks ago and got the three points and we had full confidence we can do the same again tonight if we put in 100%.

0

120.575 - 125.247 David Jones

Well, you certainly did that. Was it actually more straightforward in some ways than you expected?

0

126.475 - 132.104 Andros Townsend

No, we had to work extremely hard for that. We knew nothing was expected of us tonight.

0

Chapter 4: Why was Arsenal's performance criticized during the episode?

132.645 - 139.396 Andros Townsend

We knew the pressure was off. We knew if we defended as well as we did against Chelsea, we'd hit them on the counter-attack and we did exactly that.

0

139.957 - 147.049 David Jones

Give us an idea of your manager's thinking going into this game, Andros. Was it about hitting Christian as early as possible?

0

148.21 - 160.443 Andros Townsend

Yeah, I think it was about getting the ball to Christian and getting runners off him, getting myself and Wilf running behind and getting the bits off Christian. And I think we implemented his tactics to a tee tonight and it was a great three points and a well-needed three points.

0

161.324 - 172.817 David Jones

The way you celebrated it, it seemed very significant to the Palace players and to the fans as well. What do you think now in terms of your chances of survival, having beaten Chelsea and now Arsenal?

0

173.692 - 182.462 Andros Townsend

I think we need to get our heads back in the game and focus on Saturday. When we beat Chelsea, we didn't follow up against Southampton and we lost.

Chapter 5: What did Andros Townsend say about the team's confidence?

183.103 - 192.754 Andros Townsend

We kind of cancelled out the win against Chelsea. So we're fully focused. We'll go in tomorrow and start focusing on Leicester on Saturday and try and get another three points to help us to survival.

0

193.315 - 202.686 David Jones

But this run of form is doing you all the power of good. Five wins out of six. Just how significant has the impact of Sam Allardyce been on your season, do you think, Andros?

0

203.678 - 220.086 Andros Townsend

Yeah, he's been incredible. I was on the wrong end of the Sam Allardyce factor last season when I was at Newcastle. His Sunderland side went on an incredible run at the end of the season and stayed up, and he looks to have worked his magic again, and hopefully if we can keep them performances up, we'll get enough points to survive.

0

220.587 - 221.649 David Jones

Andros, congratulations.

0

Chapter 6: How does the panel assess Arsenal's chances for the rest of the season?

221.689 - 223.392 David Jones

Many thanks for speaking to us live tonight.

0

224.165 - 225.247 Andros Townsend

Thank you. It's a pleasure. Thank you.

0

226.169 - 235.207 David Jones

What has been the secret, do you think, for Sam Allardyce and Crystal Palace? Has it been a case of making football simple for them again, do you think?

0

235.228 - 262.795 Claudio Ranieri

I think the more important thing is use in the right way your players. And Sam made this. And I watched a team, compact, strength, desperate to make a result. Another team, not so team, to try to play well, to go around, to make something, but not desperate.

0

Chapter 7: What insights did Claudio Ranieri provide about managing teams?

262.775 - 271.403 David Jones

And it's six points now, that gap for Crystal Palace. They've got a game in hand on, I think, pretty much every other side that's involved down there. They're not going down now, Jamie, are they?

0

272.144 - 297.752 Jamie Carragher

I don't think so. I think that Sam Allardyce has a formula in this Premier League and he sticks to it, whatever club he goes to. And it's a guarantee of staying in the Premier League. And I think if he'd have stayed at Sunderland this year, I don't think he'd have gone down. Next season, you'll be looking at Crystal Palace and thinking, they won't be in a relegation fight. He's got a method.

0

297.972 - 299.254 Jamie Carragher

At times, it's criticised.

0

Chapter 8: What are the implications of this match for both teams moving forward?

300.355 - 319.665 Jamie Carragher

But he's an absolute saviour for club chairman up and down this country. The first thing you think of as soon as your manager's in trouble is Big Sam and a job. Can we get him? That's all you think about Crystal Palace, don't it? Didn't start too well initially. The same was at Sunderland as well. It didn't have the effect as quickly as we all think.

0

319.986 - 335.403 Jamie Carragher

And maybe it takes time for him to get his message across. But when it gets across, they get the results. There are times you don't expect. 3-0 tonight could have been five. Absolutely battered them. And, no, I don't think they've got any problems now, obviously, of going down.

0

335.803 - 351.861 David Jones

Sam Alias has been listening to that. That'll be music to his ears. Congratulations, Sam. I'm guessing you enjoyed that by that smile. God, oh, carry, yeah, brilliant, thanks. Keep it up, brilliant. Just summed it up right there, by the way. Fantastic, yes. What he said was 5-0 really wouldn't have flattered you, Sam.

0

353.41 - 380.129 Sam Allardyce

I think that we had the opportunities of course to score goals and I think that Tonight, tactically, was the players being aware of what had to happen to beat Arsenal, and I think the first thing was to defend correctly as an 11, to frustrate the Arsenal, keep them playing sideways and backwards, and then to use the ball into the spaces behind the full-backs.

0

380.83 - 400.575 Sam Allardyce

We were offering Christian Benteke as quickly as we possibly could to fill the area, win the knockdown and get into wide areas and get balls in the box. And I thought the weaknesses with Arsenal have been defensively because they leave Mustafi and Gabriel, they're really exposed. Monreal and Beryl in play like right and left wingers.

401.616 - 421.123 Sam Allardyce

The wingers come inside with a centre forward and they're just left on their own. So if you can get at them quickly through midfield and into wide areas or off Christian, you can get in the opposition's box, you can get chances. And today with the work rate, the determination of the team to log on to Arsenal's team when they had possession.

421.223 - 448.572 Sam Allardyce

We won a lot of possession off them and created lots of chances, and certainly Yohan Kabay's goal in the second half, what a finish, and it's down to his down to us shutting down throw-ins, which not a lot of people see. You obviously know that as professionals, Karen, Claudio, but that was the basis of us getting so many attacks off and then in the end quality, quality finishing and it wasn't...

449.193 - 466.219 Sam Allardyce

It wasn't a shock tonight in terms of our performance for me because when we played at Chelsea that way, we won that game. I mean, I think the result is a shock for everybody, but the performance was there against Chelsea and if they could repeat that, they might get something tonight. And they did that and did it better.

466.6 - 475.133 David Jones

Did you feel as well, Sam, that if you'd scored the first goal, it would be a real test of Arsenal's character? Did you sense some vulnerability perhaps there this evening?
