Chapter 1: What were the highlights of Tottenham's 2-0 win over Chelsea?

4.688 - 44.027 Unknown

Eriksen. Dele Alli! Eriksen, Alli's there again! Dele Alli just doesn't miss at the moment, ruining Chelsea's attempt at this all-time record. So Chelsea's 30-match winning streak is over, Tottenham make it five league wins in a row, nine attempts from the home side, 11 from Chelsea, eight of those came in the second half, two on target from both, Tottenham scoring with both of those.

44.463 - 67.905 Unknown

In terms of possession, an exact reverse of what we saw at Stamford Bridge just 39 days ago. And only the third time this season that Tottenham have averaged under 50% possession in the game. But all the talk here is about Dele Alli. Two goals for Tottenham in his last three games. A man of the match performance. And he and Eric Dier, both with Jeff Shreves.

0

70.012 - 73.917 Jeff Shreeves

Well done, Dele, Eric. Just how good a performance was that and what does it mean?

0

74.598 - 76.38 Eric Dier

Yeah, really, really good.

0

76.901 - 97.386 Eric Dier

I think, as you said to me before, the first half, we were testing each other, you know, as we were playing the same formation, really, so I think both teams played in a different way, but, you know, we were seeing how each other was going to play and then, you know, thankfully we got the goal before half-time and that settled everything and then in the second half they had to come at us and we managed to get the second.

Chapter 2: How did Dele Alli perform in the match against Chelsea?

97.822 - 109.901 Dele Alli

What was the key for you tonight, Dele, do you think, in getting the victory? I think it was just to stick to the game plan, you know, we had to fight, we knew how big the game was, not just for us, but for the fans as well, and yeah, it was important that we got the win and we stuck to the game plan.

0

109.921 - 115.289 Jeff Shreeves

It wasn't just for the fans, was the motivation tonight totally closing the gap, or were there other factors at play too?

0

115.89 - 129.313 Dele Alli

I think this is a massive game, you know, I don't think there's any hiding how big this game is for Tottenham, for the club and for the fans as well, you know, it's a I think there was a lot of things that went into it today and I think you could see that from the performance on the boys. We fought from the first whistle until the last and it was a well-deserved win.

0

130.407 - 137.015 Jeff Shreeves

What does it give Tottenham as well in terms of you being able to shift from midfield or back into the back line as well in terms of an extra dimension?

0

137.356 - 158.001 Eric Dier

Yeah, I'm just really happy to be playing wherever the manager wants me to and I hope that gives the club some versatility with me. It means we can play different formations and there's lots of options so I think it's only a benefit for the manager and for the team.

158.251 - 161.876 Jeff Shreeves

Dele, in terms of goal scoring, you're on fire right now. Do you feel like you're going to score every time you go out there?

162.397 - 177.036 Dele Alli

Yeah, I think today it seemed like I couldn't use my feet, just my head today. I think I didn't get on the board as much as I would have liked to, but I think it was important for the team that we got them goals, and I'm happy to help and get the goals, but I think most importantly, no matter who scores, we won the game today.

177.252 - 180.199 Jeff Shreeves

Was it about positioning for you, finding space between their back three?

180.56 - 181.142 Dele Alli

Yeah, it was hard.

Chapter 3: What strategies did Tottenham employ to secure their victory?

181.182 - 190.044 Dele Alli

There wasn't much space for me personally. I was opening up the space for Chris and some of the other boys. Like I say, I think it was a solid performance today for the boys and I'm happy to get on the score sheet again.

0

190.565 - 192.51 Jeff Shreeves

Eric, do you think you've made a big statement tonight?

0

192.49 - 208.37 Eric Dier

Yeah, I think so. You know, this game was huge for us for many different reasons because of, you know, we have a history with them now last year and then obviously this season they stopped our unbeaten run in the Premier League. So, you know, to stop their winning streak, you know, that was nice.

0

208.39 - 219.223 Eric Dier

And at the same time to close the gap on them because there are bigger things in our mind than just stopping them. You know, we want to do well ourselves. So I think that was a big statement for us tonight and hopefully now we can kick on even further.

0

219.473 - 232.331 Dele Alli

What does it do for your title charge, Dilly? I think, you know, obviously it's a big statement for us, but we're happy to stay underneath the radar and just keep taking these games as they come. Like we did last season, you know, we just sort of dug away and kept performing and kept getting the wins. And that's what we're going to do this season.

232.351 - 235.396 Dele Alli

We're going to not get our feet too far off the floor after this win.

Chapter 4: What was Chelsea's reaction to their first defeat in 14 games?

235.416 - 241.785 Dele Alli

We're just going to focus on the next game now and look at the positives and we're going to enjoy this win. But, you know, it's important that we recover and get ready for the next game now.

0

241.765 - 247.553 Jeff Shreeves

One of the positives was your two goals, another brace for you. You picked up the Premier League man of the match order. Eric, will you do the honours, please?

0

247.573 - 249.856 Eric Dier

Well done, mate. Congratulations. Cheers.

0

249.876 - 250.216 Jeff Shreeves

Thank you.

0

250.737 - 262.373 Unknown

Thank you, guys. Some performers will talk in detail about him in just a moment. Graeme Souness, Jimmy Floyd, Hasselbank alongside me. They talked there about hoping to remain under the radar in terms of this title race. Has that performance put them on the radar?

262.353 - 262.874 Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink

It does.

Chapter 5: How did the match impact the Premier League title race?

264.138 - 294.711 Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink

They had the edge. I think they have got a really talented squad, a really talented team. Abundance of ability and you could see that today. What is really important for them that they... They kick on. The last time they had a really good performance against Man City here, I think they lost their next match or they drew. They can't afford looking back. This is gone. They need to kick on.

0

295.432 - 314.597 Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink

If they want to... do something this season. This game is put themselves on the platform, but it's gone. They really need to kick on and put a string of wins together, keep on winning this. Now six, can they do it seven, eight, nine times?

0

314.977 - 322.566 Unknown

Normally in games like this, Graeme, you can't afford for a player like Harry Kane to not be involved, but tonight when you got Ali in the form that he is, it didn't matter so much.

0

Chapter 6: What lessons can Chelsea learn from this loss?

322.546 - 342.438 Graeme Souness

Very hard for the forward players tonight. Both teams were getting behind the ball. The minute they lost it, they got behind the ball. Very difficult. We were saying during the game for Costa and Harry Kane tonight, they didn't get a second on the ball. It suited people. Even Dele Alli said, I played with my head tonight, not my feet. He couldn't get on the ball because they play so compact.

0

342.458 - 350.19 Graeme Souness

They're so well organised when they're defending. The distances between the midfield players and their back four is minimal. It

0

350.17 - 367.734 Graeme Souness

It's tailor-made for someone arriving late, you know, like Dele Alli did on two occasions, getting a jump on someone, you know, looking at the man on the ball, which was Ericsson twice, you know, can thread the ball through the eye of a needle, he can deliver it where he wants to. Did it twice. Dele Alli read the situation perfectly twice.

0

368.115 - 371.9 Graeme Souness

Twice he got between Moses and Azpilicueta, and that was a difference.

0

Chapter 7: How did both teams' performances compare in the match?

372.18 - 388.513 Graeme Souness

Chelsea are a very good team. Chelsea, you know, will come back from this. There's nothing between the teams tonight other than Two great crosses from Eriksen and two well-timed headers from Dele Alli. That was two, for me, two really good teams playing against each other tonight. Very hard to separate them.

0

388.578 - 406.868 Unknown

But when you look at Dele Alli since he made his Premier League debut last season, those two goals tonight takes him here on this list. The goal since the start of last season takes him into ninth on 20. You look at the players above him, you know, strikers, he's quicker there to that mark than the likes of Gerrard, Scholes, Lampard and Beckham in their day. Jimmy, just how good is Dele Alli?

0

407.489 - 432.194 Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink

He's very good, but I think there's still a lot more to come from him. You can see his movement, you can see his understanding in the game, getting space in tight areas, finding where he has to be to score goals, but also his assists and his understanding of the game. I think he's got a lot more to come.

0

432.214 - 434.498 Unknown

How much more to come, Graeme? 30-20?

0

Chapter 8: What are the upcoming challenges for both Tottenham and Chelsea?

435.608 - 451.542 Graeme Souness

The only thing will stop him if he stops learning, if he stops wanting to learn. You know, he mentioned about keeping his feet firmly on the ground, or the team keeping their feet on the ground. The boy's got everything. He's got... See, what he does, you know, he's 20 years old, he'll run forward without the ball. Teams don't like to play against that.

0

451.642 - 464.499 Graeme Souness

You know, he makes the late runs and he gets two goals from it tonight. He's got the athleticism to do that from the first minute to the last. Every time I watch this boy play, I think we end up talking like this about him. The sky's the limit for him.

0

464.539 - 471.208 Graeme Souness

As long as he keeps wanting to learn, as long as the right people are around him giving the right information, then he's destined to be a superstar.

0

471.288 - 485.628 Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink

He's got similarities of Frank Lampard running into the box, coming there, wanting to score, having that... that little bit between his teeth, I'm going to score, he has that, Frank Lampard had that.

0

486.249 - 510.122 Graeme Souness

He's got an edge to him as well, which as long as that's kept under control, all the top men had that. You don't want to lose. You know about that. They look at you a certain way, and you know there's something there more than most players, and he's got that, and as well as having all the... God-given talents, talking about athleticism, and his technique, he'll learn the game.

510.142 - 522.698 Graeme Souness

At 20, you hardly understand what the game's about, but he's already grasped a large part of that, and he should only get better and better, and I come back to it, as long as he's managed right, and he turns up every day and wants to learn from those around him and his coach.

522.978 - 529.747 Unknown

Well, those two goals from Dele Alli have ended Chelsea's 13-match winning run. Let's get some Chelsea reaction now. Gary Cahill with Geoff Shreves.

531.929 - 535.073 Jeff Shreeves

Gary, unfortunately, the run is over. Your reaction?

535.66 - 557.056 Gary Cahill

I don't think it was at the levels we've been at. I thought we fell short a little bit today. But nevertheless, on the positive side, we've won 13, joint record, we're all a part of that. So again, something we should be proud of, but we're disappointed today. We came here to get the win and it wasn't to be.
