23 Dec 2018

Transcription

Chapter 1: What were the highlights of Tottenham's 6-2 victory over Everton?

7.658 - 24.081 Graeme Souness

Nicely worked between Mamello and Eriksen. Mamello for Son. He's in. It's five for Spurs. Left on by Davies. From the left it's Son. Kane, he's got the double. And Spurs have got six.

Brilliant game. Terrific afternoon for Spurs. Two for Kane, two for Son. One special goal from Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli in the first half scoring as well. Six of the best for Spurs now within six of the leaders. He was man of the match. Mauricio Pochettino must be absolutely delighted with Son today.

Chapter 2: How did Heung-min Son and Harry Kane perform in the match?

41.155 - 44.601 Unknown

Let's hear from him with Harry Kane and both chatting to Greg Whelan.

0

46.15 - 51.015 Greg Whelan

Harry Son, great afternoon's work. Harry, how satisfying to get a result like that here?

0

51.396 - 68.154 Harry Kane

Yeah, no, it's massive. We knew it was going to be a tough game. Obviously, we went 1-0 behind. A bit unlucky, I thought, because I thought we started the game well. But after that, we created some good chances, we took them. And then second half, yeah, we dominated the ball and the chances again. So, I think it's a tough team. It's a very good result.

0

69.015 - 75.702 Greg Whelan

Son, two goals for you today. Were you particularly pleased with how you converted the first one? You still had a lot to do after the defensive mix-up.

0

75.766 - 81.654 Heung-min Son

No, I just kept running because I just kept running.

Chapter 3: What role did Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli play in the game?

81.694 - 98.517 Heung-min Son

The ball was a surprise in my foot. It was a difficult angle, but I just tried to hit the target. It was brilliant timing for us because we were all nil down. I think it's very important to score at this time. I think we deserve this win. I think we are really happy.

0

98.737 - 103.123 Greg Whelan

That was the key, wasn't it? To respond when you did, as quickly as you did, to go in behind.

0

103.188 - 125.483 Heung-min Son

I think what Harry said is right. We dominated the game from the start and we created so many chances. We are unlucky, we are 1-0 down, but I think we showed our character, our mentality. We bounced back again and scored six goals here in a difficult place. We are happy to get three points here.

0

125.665 - 129.771 Greg Whelan

Harry, two more against Everton and at one point did it look like it might not be your afternoon?

0

130.112 - 135.58 Harry Kane

I know, yeah, I had a few to start off with, missed a couple, but look, that's part of being a striker.

Chapter 4: What did Mauricio Pochettino say about the team's performance?

135.6 - 146.135 Harry Kane

I knew the way we was playing, creating chances, I was going to get more throughout the game and I've been moaning at this man this season for not assisting me, so thankfully in the second half he put one on the plate and I was happy to finish it off.

0

146.596 - 152.044 Greg Whelan

Son, in a weekend in which we've seen both Manchester City and Chelsea lose, how do you see this result today?

0

152.395 - 169.675 Heung-min Son

No, actually, we don't care about other teams. Of course, the game is a bit closer, but I think we focus on us and we focus on game by game and it's possible to get three points like always and we try our best and we see what's going to happen. It's a long race and we see what happens.

0

169.695 - 174.42 Greg Whelan

It is, but currently you are two points behind Manchester City. Are you title contenders?

0

174.704 - 190.705 Harry Kane

Well, look, I think everyone's talking about Liverpool and Man City and we're just kind of doing well like we normally do. So there's still a long way to go. We're in a good period. December's been great for us so far. We've had a great week. So it's important we carry on. We've got games coming up thick and fast, but games we can definitely win.

190.765 - 194.89 Harry Kane

So, yeah, we've just got to have a strong December, January.

Chapter 5: What were the critical moments that turned the game in Spurs' favor?

194.87 - 199.204 Harry Kane

February all the way through and pretty much see where we're at come April time.

0

199.766 - 204.402 Greg Whelan

Appreciate that. Great result today. Sonia Rosso, the Premier League man of the match. Harry, do the honours for us.

0

204.642 - 206.027 Heung-min Son

Well done, guys. Thank you very much.

0

206.8 - 212.167 Unknown

Well, as Harry Kane says, everyone's talking about Liverpool and Manchester City. Should we be talking about Spurs?

0

212.308 - 216.613 David Jones

Yeah, definitely. You asked that before and I'll say this again, provided I can keep Harry fit.

216.634 - 219.117 Unknown

But you see the contribution from everybody in that Spurs team today, right?

219.137 - 224.805 David Jones

Yeah, they are the real deal. I mean, there's no doubt about it. Spurs, when they're firing, are as good a watch as anyone.

Chapter 6: How did Everton's strategy impact their performance against Spurs?

224.885 - 244.84 David Jones

We saw that today. I mean, life for them was made a wee bit easier the way Everton played. They played an open, easy-to-play-against game for the better teams. Coming here... That will happen again unless they change against the better teams. Everton try to play a way which enters into the supporters, try to be on the front foot against the better teams and get picked off being so open.

0

245.917 - 246.317 David Jones

What do you think?

0

247.259 - 261.515 Craig Bellamy

I thought Spurs were incredible. Really, from start to finish. I agree with Harry Kane. I thought they were unlucky to go 1-0 behind. It could have been two, but it wasn't. And then Spurs didn't look back. As soon as they got the first goal, they were outstanding.

0

261.615 - 263.497 Unknown

Seems a long time ago, this, Craig, doesn't it?

0

Chapter 7: What do the guests think about Spurs' title chances this season?

263.517 - 264.599 Unknown

The context of the game.

0

265.68 - 288.601 Craig Bellamy

I know. But, look, they got caught in between you with trips and winks as well. So, a good run by Theo Walcott. I don't know. That went there. I would have liked to have seen Trips go and take that. But once he's in that area, great pull back with Calvert-Lewin and a good run by Phil Walcott. But I like this. I like the way Spurs changed it up as well today, going two up top, playing a diamond.

0

288.721 - 292.95 Craig Bellamy

I thought with Son and Harry Kane as well, they... They tore Everton apart.

0

293.05 - 299.777 David Jones

What was great about Spurs, you know, they go a goal down, but they've got great belief in themselves. They didn't try to change anything. Just keep plodding away.

0

Chapter 8: What insights did Marco Silva provide after the match?

299.797 - 313.153 David Jones

They've got, you know, we'll talk about the goals they score. You know, for me, the two centre-backs, Sanchez and Alderweireld especially, were fabulous today. Faultless, near enough. And that is a basis for you to keep believing in what you're trying to do. You know, you've got a person in the team that can hurt the opposition.

0

313.433 - 314.955 Unknown

Yeah, they might have been 2-0 down here.

0

314.935 - 332.801 David Jones

Let's not forget that. And how different might it have been had this been given? I think Calvert-Lewin does nudge him. There's a deflection on the cross here of Eriksen. There, the left-hand, Calvert-Lewin does go on the back of Sanchez and I think he's slightly off the ground when there... And it's just enough to put him off.

0

333.041 - 338.3 David Jones

The minute you raise your hands in the box, he will have a foul given against you. It's a great header.

0

338.761 - 342.987 Unknown

He'll feel how it done to him. Would it have changed the course of the game? We don't know that.

343.869 - 352.802 Craig Bellamy

We don't know, but it would have had a big impact there. Everton would have gone 2-0 up at that time. It could have been a different outcome in the game.

353.103 - 358.611 Unknown

Spurs get back in at, as Son said, an absolutely crucial time in the game. But how do Everton get themselves in such a mess?

358.878 - 375.65 Craig Bellamy

Well, like I said, Harry Kane looked like he enjoyed playing with another player up top. But if you look, Zouma, Pickford, get themselves an auto. It's still a tough finish, very good finish, but either Pickford gives an early shout, comes out early, then takes care of it. Because he starts there. He stays at home.

376.311 - 380.599 Unknown

Is it a decision whether to run back to his goal or come to the ball? Instinct is obviously to go, isn't it?
