So you're at the Wolves game because you're part of the coaching staff down there now, aren't they? That's right. With the youth section of the academy?
Yes, I'm working in the academy with the academy at Wolves. There's some great people there. As you know, Wolves are doing well for themselves now. It's a great set-up.
What is the significance of Darius Vassell's soccer schools?
I'm working with the strikers specifically now this season. Last season I had a bit of experience working with the younger players, the under 15s, worked around the under 12s and the 13s, but now I'm specifically working with the strikers. So I'm trying to obviously get better at that role and help Wolves produce players that hopefully become better people first and foremost, but are able to forge a way into that side that we're trying to build.
Any involvement at all with the first team or not?
Not really, no, not at this stage. Admittedly, I'm inexperienced as a coach. I'm trying to learn my way around it.
What are the challenges of working with youth players in football?
It's more about my experience in the game, passing that on, combined with the FA coaching badges and bits and pieces like that. Is it a practical role, though?
Are you out there on the pitch with the cones and the balls?
That's what it is. you would think. To be honest, no, I'm actually in the office more than anything. I do get out there to support all the coaches across the age groups, but a lot of it is looking at videos, you know, paperwork, presentations to give to the players, to give them that alternate view, viewpoint from, you know, obviously the experience that I've had.
We'll have to get you in to tell you you don't need all that.

Out-of-point presentations, can you imagine? But you've also got the Darius Vassell soccer schools as well, don't you? That's right, yeah. And you're doing that up and down the country as well.
So that's, again, that's in its early stages. I've opened up a soccer school. We're going around local schools at this moment in time, just trying to give back, obviously. Um... It's been a long time since I've been back to my previous school, but I've got to do that now. I've took my soccer school there and we're going to try and, you know, give out some free sessions to begin with and then offer later on, you know, some, you know, paid-for sessions for those that are wanting to take their game a little bit further.
And one of the coaches that you've got that's part of your soccer schools is Jay Lloyd-Samuel's daughter.

That's right, yeah. A very good friend of yours, of course, who we sadly lost earlier in the year. A good mate of yours. It must be fantastic to be able to sort of have her there and involved in coaching the kids.
Yes, certainly. When she told me that she wanted to be a football coach, and that was obviously after the passing of my good friend Jay Lloyd, obviously it was news to my ears. At the moment in time when she told me, we had two coaches on board and they were both male, and I've always said I want to coach male and female, I want to have male and female coaches on board, and when she said that I just thought, oh, perfect, ideal.
How does Theo Walcott's performance impact his team's dynamics?
I get to obviously keep an eye on her, look after her as best as I can. Obviously I can never do the job of a father to her.
