What is the main topic of this episode?

George Kamel 0:41
That's right. We're tackling the heart issues today. And some people have big feelings about little things like Wendy's and Schlotzky's and other cheap meal spots on the go. So we're going to address this debate head on. We're going to talk about the financial aspect of it. And can we just say, not an episode about health. So before you say, do you know how bad fast food is for you? I know. You are not the target demo for this episode.
Rachel Cruze 1:05
And I'm reading books and listening to podcasts about how terrible it all is, so we know. We know.
George Kamel 1:09
I'm teaching Rachel that nutrition labels exist, so we're working on it. We're having a good time.
Rachel Cruze 1:14
It is real. What we put in our bodies is very important. And also, what are we sipping on, George?
George Kamel 1:18
Here's what we're putting in our body today. It's a Raspberry Dream Dirty Soda Mocktail.
Rachel Cruze 1:22
Yeah.

Why do people have strong opinions about fast food?

George Kamel 1:23
And we're going to give you the rating and reveal the cost per glass at the end of the episode.
Rachel Cruze 1:26
And this is the drink, apparently. I've not seen it yet, which I love reality TV. but apparently the Mormon controversial... Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Yep, apparently this is what they drink.
George Kamel 1:36
I only know because my wife was watching it and I... Did you watch any of it? She watched all of it. Oh my gosh, I need... It was like season two right now. Like she was obsessed.
Rachel Cruze 1:44
Okay, I need to get on the train.
George Kamel 1:46
But if you didn't know, Mormons famously are into soda shops because they cannot have alcohol or caffeine.
Rachel Cruze 1:52
Yes.
George Kamel 1:53
From coffee. But soda's okay in energy drinks?
Rachel Cruze 1:56
I'm not sure.
George Kamel 1:57
You guys tell me.
Rachel Cruze 1:58
Let us know. I'm still confused by that rule. But anyways, we got this pop culture, I'm going to call it, drink today.
George Kamel 2:04
And this is one of Rachel's all-time requested episodes.
Rachel Cruze 2:07
Is it?
George Kamel 2:08
Because you just want to talk about your love of fast food.
Rachel Cruze 2:11
No, I just have opinions about fast food. Not the health of it, again, but what I like. Because, listen, y'all all think I'm like this bougie... debt-free, Tesla-driving girl, I'm not. She's so much more. I am, but I'm not.
George Kamel 2:26
She's so much more.
Rachel Cruze 2:28
I love, I do love fast food.
George Kamel 2:30
She loves a Sonic.
Rachel Cruze 2:32
And listen, we're eating a broccoli casserole for dinner tonight. Tomorrow, white bean chicken chili. Like, we eat healthy, right? Wow. On most of it. But when you need fast food, I am here for it, and I will never say no.
George Kamel 2:45
And we're going to break it down for you. We're going to rank it today. We're going to do some bracket style challenges. And I'm going to class it up with my version of fast casual. So you don't want to miss this.
Rachel Cruze 2:55
It's going to be good because I do think that the topic of food is... it has gone up, right? Inflation, groceries, all of it. And we do talk about that. When you go out to eat, you spend more money versus if you ate at home. And again, it may not be true for like a single person running through like a Taco Bell drive-thru versus going to the grocery, right? Like I think there's a level of it. But when you have a family and especially a sit-down restaurant, all of it, like you are end up spending more. But these are places that are cheaper because the quality is not good. But it's a reality that a lot of people face. It is a reality. And you're busy. You've got to run through a drive-thru, and so we're going to talk about it.
George Kamel 3:33
And we're going to sprinkle in some stats, prices, and fun facts for you along the way. And let us know in the comments who you're siding with, what your favorites are as we talk about them, because we want your hot takes too. We have two rounds. We've got the fast food round, which is your traditional cheap drive-thru.
