Why is September highlighted as Suicide Prevention Month in this episode?
Hello, my friend, and welcome back, or welcome to Something for Everybody. My name is Aaron Mashbitz, and this is a solo episode of the podcast, and one of the most important episodes that I do all year because it coincides with September being National Suicide Prevention Month. I also do one of these in May for Mental Health Awareness Month. Now I have thoughts and feelings, of course, about specific months and the reasons we have them, but these two months, May Mental Health Awareness Month and September Suicide Prevention Month, are really, really important to me in a very deeply and personal way. Now, if you're a frequent listener to this podcast, you know why. It's because of my sister, Rachel.
Now, I want to warn you this episode more is kind of story, emotion, how I'm feeling. Uh if you're looking for more tools, and tactics and practical actions you can take to improve your mindset or your mental health or to help a loved one who might be struggling with their mental health. I've done many, many episodes on that subject and I will do I'll be doing more of that throughout the month of September. But this is kind of the kickoff of the month, why I feel the way I feel, what's important to me, and more of an introduction to those who are brand new to the podcast. Because I used to be a professional wrestler, and they tell you that every single time you walk through the curtain and you walk down a ramp, no matter if you've been in that building a hundred times, you have to pretend like nobody knows who you are.
And that's the same thing here. So I'm explaining kind of my story. But if you're not interested in that and you want More tools and tactics, which is really what we do on this show. Uh send me an email, a DM, a text, whatever, and I will send you a specific episode, hopefully to help you with whatever you might be dealing with. Maybe a solo episode, a guest episode, whatever the case may be. And those episodes I research and I prepare and I do all those types of things. This episode right now, I'm just speaking from the heart. Whatever comes to my brain, whatever comes to my mouth, I'm sharing it. I have no idea how long it's gonna be, what I'm gonna say, or how I'm gonna approach it. I just know that I want to talk about it because I've been doing this since my sister passed away.
And more importantly, I've been doing it specifically on this podcast since I started this show because my sister was really the driving force for doing all the things that I do in my life, whether that be my nonprofit called You Are Love, this podcast called Something for everybody, uh, or really everything that I'm about and how I change my my basically my whole life. And so that's what I'm gonna get into. Before we jump straight into the Episode, I want to share the absolute best ways to support the work we're doing here. And the absolute best way is through Patreon. Patreon is the home of our exclusive community where we do monthly bonus episodes, ad-free episodes, merch discounts, and live streams, and so much more.
So the absolute best way to support the work we're doing here is by becoming a member on Patreon. Patreon. And the next best is through Shop for Everybody.
