Hey everybody, this is Carrie Clark, and welcome to another episode of the Speech and Language Kids podcast. This is episode number 28, and we will be discussing final consonant deletion today. But before we get to that, I want to talk about the Speech Therapy solution. To make your job easier and help you become the speech therapist that you know you can be and that you've always wanted to be, but haven't been able to because everything else is getting in the way. So, right now, well, I have I have very grand designs and plans for this website in the future. I would love for it to be an all-in-one resource where you can go there and get everything that you need for speech therapy, everything from scheduling to data collection. to IEP writing, goal writing, uh tracking stuff, everything. I want it all to be on there.
But right now we're starting small and building our way up. So right now the website is currently hosting a monthly webinar. which is an in-depth training on any on any topic that the group members select. There's also an exclusive Facebook group where you can ask questions and get answers from me and other speech therapists. And then every day I give a video answer to one member's question and I take that question, research it, and then give you a 10 to 15 minute video answering that question. Plus, you have access to every video answer to questions that have already been answered. I think we have somewhere between 15 and 20 questions up right now, and I'm putting a new one up every weekday. So this library is going to get huge quickly.

So today we are talking about final consonant deletion. So final consonant deletion is when you take a child takes off any end.
consonant on a word. So if it the if the word ends in a consonant, they just drop that one off entirely. They omit it. So the word dog would be dawg. And cat would be cat. So as you can imagine if somebody were if a child were using final consonation and wanted to say, please mom, can I have some eggs and toast, it would come out plea, okay, that was harder for me to say than I thought it was gonna be.
