Hello everyone and welcome to a very special episode of the Speech and Language Kids podcast. I am your host, Carrie Clark, and today we are going to be listening in on a live planning call inside the hub membership. So we are, I am going live right this moment, and I'm gonna have some people hop on here and we are going to work on planning our February February. So the idea here is that we are looking at we are currently in the end of January, and we are looking at what we can do for the month of February to plan. One whole month at a time, get all of that figured out and have an awesome plan going into the month that will help us stay streamlined and give you a system that's going to walk you through therapy from start to finish.
Because that's the thing. Hey guys, I see you popping in. Welcome. Um, that's the thing, is when we are just trying to piece together therapy with these one-off activities and just kind. Piecing them together one at a time, it isn't as effective as it when we have a structured plan that gradually increases the difficulty level on a skill and walks the students through step by step. So that's what we're gonna be talking about on the call today is I'm going to be helping some of our members inside the hub. Do their planning and troubleshoot some of these these problems that we might be facing as we go along. So hey Jeanette, hey Karen, hey uh Stephanie, welcome. Let me know where you're logging in from, and we're gonna go ahead and get started with our planning. So I'm gonna pull up. On the screen, and I know it the screen is being a little laggy again, and I'm not sure how to fix that. So sorry about that, but you should still be able to see what I'm gonna be sharing. Um so There it is. Okay, so I am inside the hub and I am on the get started page under the therapy plan library. So if you have a free or a paid plan, you can access this page and this is going to help you understand. How this whole therapy plan thing works. Okay. So this is not just a library of one-off activities. Inside the hub, we have a therapy plan library. And so for each skill that we cover, we have created a step-by-step plan that breaks the skill down into phases and then gradually steps the student through those phases to help them effectively learn the skill in the
shortest amount of time possible with the best practices possible. So you'll see that here. If you scroll down, you'll find the five step process.
How does the 5‑step therapy‑plan process work?
Okay. So here's how it's gonna work in therapy. Number one, you're gonna grab the therapy plan for the skill that you need and put it in that child's folder. So I have a speech box that has hanging file folders, and everybody has a folder, and we just pop those therapy plans for what they're working on into the folder. And since each therapy plan is start to finish teaching that skill all the way through. Then that is actually multiple weeks, if not months, of therapy already planned out for you. Okay? So you drop that into the students folder. Step two is you're gonna work on the first phase of therapy by doing the first page of the therapy plan workbook. Okay. So each therapy plan is broken into phases.
Each phase has a one-page activity that's going to introduce the skill. and help you practice it. Help you teach it and help you practice it. And then we get to step three, which is continuing to practice, right? Because one one page isn't going to take you through multiple weeks of therapy, right? I do encourage you to bring it back out every session and go over it again for every session that you're still on that phase. However, you're probably gonna need something to keep it a little more exciting than that, right? So step three is to continue to practice by creating custom activities and materials using our session builder tools.
