A completely different version of that story now is coming from his side with he and his attorney saying that he was driving along. They pulled up in an unmarked car. He was not exactly sure who they were.
Did a U-turn under the highway and the truck chased him. and sideswiped him again. And the agents came out and shot him in the back of the neck and pulled him out of the car.
That he tried to comply with them, and he was eventually shot in his back.

So he got a deportation order in absentia, which is a very common thing. The court is notorious for sending notices of hearings to the wrong address.
And then the next thing he knew, they were starting a deportation process, which ICE was acting on on Sunday.
