Chapter 1: What humorous experiences do Russell Howard and Dan Atkinson share from their early comedy days?

0.031 - 2.416 Joanna Page

I feel like I'm a couple of steps away from OnlyFans.

0

2.617 - 3.679 Russell Howard

There's your headline.

0

4.261 - 7.689 Mathew Horne

Were you in the room when I ripped my shirt? I wasn't sure whether you were going to tell everyone about that.

0

7.709 - 10.916 Joanna Page

Oh my God, tell us what was it. What was the other Stacey like?

0

11.217 - 12.6 Mathew Horne

How many Stacey's have you had?

12.861 - 14.725 Dan Atkinson

I've had more than one Stacey.

14.785 - 17.01 Russell Howard

So the show should be called Gavin and the Stacey's.

18.02 - 31.558 Dan Atkinson

I do want you to feel really comfortable, like this is just a normal meal between four people. But you've got cue cards. We've got cue cards. And you may have noticed microphones.

31.618 - 35.984 Joanna Page

I remember my auntie Thelma going through the glass coffee table in one party we had when I was young.

Chapter 2: How do Russell Howard and Dan Atkinson feel about eating on camera?

236.131 - 254.138 Mathew Horne

Because when we used to work together on the TV show... Because that sounds like Paddington Bear on the run. Just like, I've seen stuff. Get me back to Peru. They've liquidized him. Yeah. We used to have tea brought to us all the time and it was a source of constant shame for us. When we'd be in the writing room. Yes. And there'd be runners who would bring you tea. Yes.

0

254.158 - 260.988 Mathew Horne

And it always felt unearned, undeserved. And we would just awkwardly say, oh, I would like some tea, please. Sorry.

0

261.128 - 265.815 Russell Howard

It was a wild sort of knock on effect to suddenly have people bring you tea.

0

265.795 - 266.477 Joanna Page

I know.

0

267.8 - 269.804 Russell Howard

And they would just appear and that was kind of their job.

270.305 - 271.969 Dan Atkinson

Did you feel like you were exploiting it?

273.272 - 284.698 Russell Howard

Do you know what felt weird is sometimes I like tea so much that I'd go and get my own and then I would feel like I was doing someone's job and they would get upset. So I didn't feel like I was exploiting it, but I was aware that I was drinking too much.

284.813 - 286.135 Joanna Page

Shall we pour these now?

286.155 - 288.458 Russell Howard

Where does it go though? In which one? I don't know.

Chapter 3: What unique dishes are served during the dinner conversation?

427.222 - 430.287 Mathew Horne

I don't know. I didn't specify halloumi. Did you not?

0

430.307 - 439.762 Russell Howard

And actually, aren't you more of a halloumi guy? Yeah, I like halloumi. Dan really likes cheese. That was the, wasn't it at your wedding we had to get cheese for you and your wife?

0

439.902 - 453.304 Mathew Horne

That's right. Yeah, we did, instead of gifts, we had everyone contribute to the day and so bring something for the wedding. So all of the hundred people there had made the day happen together. And so we put people on, put 99 people on cheese. Yeah, it was great. It was everywhere.

0

453.424 - 453.604 Russell Howard

Did you?

0

453.624 - 454.866 Joanna Page

It was like loads and loads of cheese.

454.846 - 465.182 Russell Howard

Yeah, and you were very happy. And his wife did one of the best. Your speech was good, but her speech was... You know, you see someone just knock it out of the park. It was fine. Not enough cheese in it for my liking.

465.202 - 465.342 Joanna Page

Yeah.

466.185 - 466.948 Russell Howard

It was a good day.

467.08 - 470.987 Joanna Page

Are you a fig person? Do you like figs? Because I'm not really a one for figs.

Chapter 4: How did Russell and Dan first meet and what was their initial impression of each other?

1244.587 - 1249.611 Dan Atkinson

You can just like... So you've got your dauphinoise and then... Why choose mackerel?

0

1249.671 - 1252.257 Joanna Page

I mean, it's quite a pungent... That is quite full-on, isn't it?

0

1252.438 - 1265.17 Mathew Horne

It is full-on, and it's delicious. These little flavour nuggets, these explosions, this bang. You've got this big, salty flavour coming through, and then you get a little bit of a break, and you're just like, oh, there's potatoes, bit of cream, then bang again. Oh, it's exciting.

0

1265.15 - 1265.611 Russell Howard

Yeah.

0

1266.091 - 1266.832 Mathew Horne

But it's a minefield.

1267.113 - 1282.653 Russell Howard

But see, this is what's interesting about him. He was like this when he was 22. So now it makes complete sense. Imagine a 22-year-old in a waistcoat, sort of going, explosions! And so I just ate it quickly and got out of there. Yeah, wow.

1282.793 - 1302.397 Joanna Page

You know, the first thing that I ever made for a man once, right, it was, I said, I'll make you a really nice spaghetti bolognese. Maybe in the back of my head I was thinking he was going to take his clothes off. But yeah, so I boiled the spaghetti and got all of that ready. And then I put that on the plate. And then I just went and got, oh my gosh, that looks incredible.

1302.417 - 1304.96 Dan Atkinson

Sam's got a pie. Sam, tell us about it.

1304.98 - 1312.909 Samuel Goldsmith

That's amazing. Paneer curry pie. Apparently you like curry. Yeah. I've got some sides for you as well. Oh my gosh, that's incredible.

Chapter 5: What challenges did they face in the chaotic 90s comedy circuit?

1338.454 - 1343.521 Dan Atkinson

This has left us pretty speechless, actually. I can see why you started doing this show.

0

1344.462 - 1348.446 Dan Atkinson

Sorry, can we go back to the dauphinoise and mackerel?

0

1349.807 - 1350.167 Russell Howard

Can we not?

0

1350.207 - 1352.91 Joanna Page

No, do you want to dish up? Oh, you've got one?

1352.93 - 1354.412 Mathew Horne

I thought we were waiting for Sam.

1354.712 - 1355.653 Joanna Page

Right, I feel it.

1355.673 - 1357.434 Mathew Horne

Tell us about the spaghetti bolognese.

1357.655 - 1366.783 Joanna Page

Right, you dish up, I'll finish my... Right, you do the dishing up. Oh, my God, look, there's curry in there. So, yeah, so my spaghetti bolognese, I boiled the spaghetti, I put it on the plate. Oh.
