Um it's you know an an eight figure sum it's ended up being. Um I think some people are saying it might be worth, you know over fifteen million. Um So clearly, you know, there's been a lot to a lot to work out. It's quite um a big sum on its own for a manager, but um, you know, not in the grand scheme of things and and City haven't really uh got form for for paying clubs for managers because they've they've had one for the last ten years and uh you know not not too many before that um in their recent history. So um and more than anything, it's a price that Manchester City were willing to pay to get Enzo Moresca.
So you're right, fifteen million is a lot, or sixteen or whatever it ends up being is a lot for a manager, but City are about to spend a hundred and one million pounds more than that on a midfield. And when you think about how integral this appointment is, how important this appointment is, and how crucial it is that they get what they perceive to be the right person and to give themselves the best chance of building on on the dynasty that Guardiola's Belt. I I mean I was I'm I'm reticent to say fifteen million is a a drop in the ocean, but but it is really, isn't it, in comparison to money spent elsewhere in football and on squads and on players to get what you perceive as one of the best in the business.
Yeah, I I think you you hope it is a drop in the ocean. Okay. And it's only seen as a drop in the ocean kind of it it will it depends on how how much success he has, how long he stays, you know, not only like cost per year, but cost per trophy. Um, you know, I think I think Chelsea themselves spent twenty million to get Graham Potter. uh from Brighton. And when you think about then them then having to sort of pay off Graham Potter and all of his staff not very long after. Um That was very, very expensive. Um and if City turn round after two months and say, No, we're not happy with Enzo, he's gotta go and all of his staff have gotta go, it's gonna be very expensive. But um in A, they don't think that's going to happen.
Um, it would be alarming if it did happen. Uh and B, it's it it's seen as well, the money that they have to pay, but I think they're quite comfortable paying it despite the fact that they will have been haggling for weeks to to get prices down.
