Let's go chronologically, yeah. Squad announced on Tuesday afternoon. Jack Grealish had kind of pre-announced that he wasn't in the squad just by sticking pictures of him training in Mallorca on his Instagram. He's been... Yeah, he was there on Monday, so he didn't train with the team on Monday or Tuesday before they went. So, yeah, that is significant. He's still coming to full fitness after his injury, but I think if he had... You know, he's a senior player. There's not that many senior players in the... In the touring squad, if he was nearly there, I think, and certainly from a commercial appeal, I bet the club would have loved for him to be here because he's such a big name. Yeah. If, you know, City really wanted him to be part of things this season, I think he would have been here, but he is not.
And that tells its own story. Calvin Phillips also missing out, which, you know, I think there was very little chance of Grealish being reintegrated. I think there was even less chance of Phillips. But yeah, sort of Enzo Maresca not sort of bowing to sentiment or anything like that, I suppose, in his... in his stance and his decision on who he's taking on tour. I think there's 16 youngsters in a 28-man squad for the first of the two weeks. So that is really quite something.
Yeah, we can perhaps come on to the youngsters in a sec. So obviously that kind of spells the end in terms of this season for Calvin Phillips, which is nothing particularly surprising. You would suggest it's highly likely that Grealish moves on as well now. And then one person that was on the plane or is on the plane, Savino. So Savino and Spurs feels like we've said those three words for about 12 months, maybe even longer. Yeah. But seems to be gathering a little bit of pace and momentum, even though he's travelled with City halfway across the world.
