He actually played for West Ham's academy. That nearly killed me, probably. He actually played in the same team as John Joe Selby when he was younger. And after training one night, he said, Dad, he said he couldn't run as fast. He was only a small boy. He said, I don't like football, Dad. I don't want to play anymore. I just want to play golf. And I was about 10, 11 years of age. And it turned out to be the best thing I've ever done. And I didn't have to go to Chad Royal every other night. And I mean, obviously, in terms of, you know, being Millwall fans, I'm assuming turning up at West Ham possibly wasn't the first choice, but it was the opportunity. It was given to you. Why Millwall? Where did the Millwall link start from?

God, you might as well tell. Well, we come from Old Kemp Road as a family and I lived up Peppers Hill most of my younger life, Omni Road, and kind of the old family's mill wall. So it was, you know, you carry it on, don't you? Your kids carry it on. So, yeah, it's in your blood, isn't it? Absolutely. I think most people that I've done this with and spoke to, there tends to be their dad or their granddad or somebody that's taken them to their first game. And that's kind of where the love affair, if you will, comes in. Do you remember both of your first games at all? I don't. I was too young. I remember my first game. I was in the 70s at some time as a young kid. But no, I remember taking Alf, Dan, Millwall and Bethel, was it?

Chris Bethel. Chris Bethel used to do the half-time thing. He used to get on the pitch and used to score a penalty or kick through an hole and you'd win a manning bike.
