Uh look, I mean, not not a ton of news from the defending champions in terms of transactions uh or or things that they ended up doing, and rightfully so, when you're the defending champions, you feel pretty confident in the product that you're putting out there. Uh In terms of what to look forward to or what fans are looking forward to most this following season, outside of just being the defending champions and soaking it all in, what do you think fans are are looking forward to the most? What do you think the the Knicks media, I guess, is is watching out for the most as well.
Well, I I think it's uh I think one answer, two birds, one stone, the hunger. W where does this team's hunger level right? I think guys like Josh Hart and others have talked about the weight of that Knicks jersey and obviously it's uh it's the biggest city in the US by far. Um therefore they have a lot of fans and they had been fifty plus years since an NBA championship. So many bad things in between there. Yep. Um but they got the monkey off their back, right? Like one title in New York is almost feels like it's worth three or four. Uh these guys are all made men in the city. So because of that, and I'm sure they're all gonna say that they are hungry to do it again, but are you actually? Uh you have no pressure.
There is no like you didn't Yeah. to is that hunger there to do it again? And we're gonna uh to me that's gonna be the most interesting thing. Like, well guy like I think guys are going to play hard. I'm not saying that, but I I do wonder if if in these tense situations, do do they thrive the way that the Knicks have thrived the last two years? Because um they smell blood in the water. This time there's not gonna really be blood in the water. They already they're the ones being chased. So uh I'm fascinated to see just kind of the hunger level throughout the course of the season. Do they start with urgency?
What are the realistic floor and ceiling expectations for the defending‑champion Knicks?
Do they not? Do they have is that like the bump in the road in in December and January? Like Okay. They're only like four games, five games above five hundred and people are are freaking out and it's just you can just tell the urgency's not there. So uh th to me that I think given that the roster came back pretty much intact, I think that's probably what people are gonna look for. How bad do they wanna do it again and um I think They have a pretty tough schedule out of the gate, so w we could find out early where where their mentality is.
Look, even even despite the fact that they didn't do much this summer, this roster isn't without questions, right?
