Two men have been arrested in Victoria's northeast as investigations continue into the movements of Desi Freeman, who was shot dead by authorities in March. Freeman was on the run for seven months after shooting dead two police officers and injuring a third at Pawpunka in regional Victoria last year.

Victoria Police have today released a statement saying the two men, aged 48 and 35, were arrested in separate locations and will be interviewed by police, adding as the investigations remain ongoing, no further details will be provided. Music Power prices are set to drop for some households this winter, with discounts also on the horizon for businesses.

Benchmark energy bills will fall by between 3.4% and up to 10% in July across parts of New South Wales and South East Queensland, according to the Australian Energy Regulator. But it's not good news for South Australian households with flat rate prices set to increase by 1.4%. This comes as a new industry survey found record levels of renewables and batteries in the power grid.

It's no coincidence that 50% renewables and 414,396 home batteries are reducing prices for them. but for everyone, by reducing reliance on expensive coal and gas in the evening. And those 414,396 home batteries installed since the 1st of July last year, together with a big uplift in grid scale batteries and a small contribution from community batteries, are making a difference. Long way to go.

A key development in the ongoing search for missing four-year-old Gus Lamont in Outback, South Australia. Detectives have today confirmed they have returned to Oak Park Station to search numerous locations over the next three days. Gus was last seen outside the homestead on the station in September last year. MUSIC

Overseas now in the US has claimed its latest strikes against Iran were in self-defence. US Military Central Command spokesperson Tim Hawkins says, quote, targets included missile launch sites and Iranian boats attempting to emplace mines.
