Netherlands time, so five o'clock UK time to write my my reprise of of a fantastic Solheim Cup um first thing this morning before making a very long and tortuous journey back. I'm not sure I'm going to frequent Shiphol Airport again unless I well I shall skip it because um god the cue's there for everything.
J just but this is th so that's obviously Monday morning you're travelling. We're recording this Monday evening. Um But when I left uh Amsterdam, I was forewarned skip all will be a nightmare, it takes a couple of hours to get through everything. I was through in ten minutes. Were you amazing? Good for you. I had I had a TCF moment. I had a TCF moment. So I'd already cued for customs. I'd already uh cued for security. That was that was a good hour uh between those two. I got into the passport queue and had to go in the all passports queue. And then I saw someone nip into, you know, the um motorized passports bit.

Um, the motorized the the automatic ones, the the machines. Mm-hmm. So I thought and I saw they had a British passport, so I thought, Oh, maybe I can use those and my producer Chris had been pointing and saying, Go that way. So I nipped out of the snakey cue And tried it and my passport was rejected. So then I had to try to get back into the queue and I was thinking, I can't really do this. I'm gonna have to rejoin the whole queue. Yeah. And it was there were a lot of people and I was really k kicking myself. And this voice said, Would you like to just come in here? And it was a woman in the queue and she lifted the barrier. And let me in and I said, Oh, thank you very much and do you know what she said?
No, she said. Is this a badger?
And
took you off the quarantine.
So I just want to start the pod by saying a massive thank you to Allie Smith, who was making her way back to Edinburgh. And more personally, she just said she had the best time, the absolute best time at the Solheim Cup from a spectator point of view, brilliantly organised, obviously fantastic drama on the golf course, brilliant golf course, and of course we'll we'll get into that in some detail.

No, my Irish passport thankfully has uh put pay to all of that misery that Ian has just described. Thank the Lord, because travelling under those circumstances week in, week out would would uh start to weigh wear me down, I think.
Well you sound you sound full of the joys of uh joys of autumn at the moment. So how how are things, first of all, because Obviously, you know, you've you've you've let people know on the stack of subs and substack, you know, how things uh developed over in Ireland and how things have progressed in terms of the treatment. Um But for everybody here, what first of all what happened in Ireland because we just got a message from you saying Bosch then Bosch, I'm out, um So ne a neck issue, but it's it was it it wasn't new. This has been grumbling away for a while.
Well, I had uh something at at the start of the year occur uh similar to this, not quite as um severe. And uh and I probably dealt with that for two months but could play through it and then it disappeared just with complete rest. And then I um I think after an extensive day of practice last Monday I obviously did something to it and uh woke up on the Tuesday morning quite stiff, but not overly concerned about it and then went to hit balls Tuesday afternoon when I arrived and realised quite quickly I couldn't get past kind of fifty yards.
