The fact of the matter is he mostly always chickens out. And the problem is we don't know when he is or isn't. And the question is, what do you take to the bank? It is interesting. One of there are two things that have happened in the last 24 hours that easily sway Donald Trump. One is the markets being the one guardrail that has made him change course. The markets collapsed on Tuesday due to fears of this trade war with Europe.
The trade deal, by the way, the EU already suspended the ratification process of the larger deal that was being negotiated, or one thought was already negotiated, just waiting for the I's to be dotted and the T's to be crossed. But you had the massive move in the markets. And then you have the fact that Donald Trump doesn't want to let people down who he's speaking to in person. And so if you're in Davos and you heard Donald Trump say, I'm not using force and, you know, I'm dropping all the tariffs. Well, that's because he wants to please the people who have his ear in the moment. And it all will depend on who has his ear at a given moment at a given time.
