Now Arch Manning has apologized for uh thinking it was funny, an AI video that had his coach Sarkeesian, Steve Sarkeesian, uh hitting Holly Rowe. It's nice to see you and before I talk about this I just wanna give my heartfelt condolences to Greg on the news that he was let go by the Herald. I haven't texted him about it yet, but when I found out I was very upset and devastated and the state of media, it is very bleak. So Greg, I'm sorry, but what a career, what a legend at the Miami Herald you were.

You're welcome, Greg. Dan, the thing about this whole saga that no one seems to really be talking about is the fact that my f I have googled this. My understanding is that the law is very behind when it comes to this technology and what you're able to do with it. But being able to make a video of a real person being slapped in the face. And distributing it on the internet, how is that allowed? I don't understand that. I understand in this country we have freedom of speech and freedom of expression, but using this technology to show violence against a woman, a real person, that is the thing that is so scummy that someone went online and used some AI tool to create this about one of the most um just highly regarded people in the sports media industry, someone that is in fact.
In fact a colleague of the Mannings because she works for ESPN, they have a show on ESPN during Monday night football. It is really disgusting that this exists and that you can make videos of people and post them online doing things that are threatening and violent.
What do you make of the apology though? I thought it was interesting that it went out on his IG story that only lives for twenty four hours that not all of his fans will see and it will expire. Am I uh too making too much out of that or is that something to you? I
don't really know what to make of it other than like I don't know what social media uh apps twenty-two-year-olds use these days. I guess it's better than Snapchat, right? I don't know. Um I'm with you probably would have been better to just be like a written statement posted somewhere, but um I think at least he apologized. It sounds like Holly Rowe accepted his apology. The part of the apology that I thought was well done was that she said that he reached out to her her and apologize to her, which I think is the correct thing to do here. And she said in her statement um that she appreciated our conversation about this, which will remain private. Apology accepted.
