Jason and Frank are back with a fresh episode of The DFO Rundown to recap what was a wildly eventful weekend in the NHL. To start, they talked about Alex Ovechkin’s ridiculous production. The 39-year-old is on pace for 111 points and his projected date to pass Wayne Gretzky for the most goals of all time is getting closer and closer.The Capitals have been red-hot so far this season and it’s not just Ovechkin driving things. Frank pointed out that this team is looking very balanced. They also talked about another team in the Eastern Conference: the Carolina Hurricanes. They’re being driven by Martin Necas’ hot start and that created a big debate about whether or not he’s just a player on a hot-streak or a budding star.They then dug into the Ryan Reaves hit on Darnell Nurse, which resulted in Reaves getting a five-game suspension.
