Speaking of this president, let me tell you about Donald Trump's very bad week, because on Monday, Denise Jackson, welcome to the elimination. On Monday, the slush fund was officially declared dead. We had Todd Blanch, who testified under oath.
We are not moving forward with the fund, period, he said. $1,776,000,000 created to pay January 6th insurrectionists and other wrongdoers. Can you say evil doers? Yeah. With your tax money. Wanted to do that. But it is gone. But here's the part that, well, it is gone, except they didn't vote for it. The lawmakers didn't vote to actually officially cancel it. So Donald Trump is saying it may come back. But according to his attorney general, who should be in charge, who should be working independently from the White House, he's saying they're not doing it. Okay. So here's the part nobody's talking about, though. Trump's personal IRS immunity survives that. I don't think people really understand just how ridiculous that is.
The insurrectionists are getting nothing. Well, they got pardoned. They may still get something. But Trump keeps his tax protection forever. He used these people to get himself a deal, and then he left them with nothing. I told you guys that earlier this week. I think it was just yesterday. And then don't forget at the end of last week he had the whole thing. There were things that happened last week as well. When I say week, it was a seven-day period, so to speak. Friday I consider to be part of this week as well. But Tuesday of this week, both chambers of Congress passed the War Powers Resolutions Act telling Donald Trump to end the war in Iran. The Senate already passed one. The House passed theirs, 215 to 208.
Four Republicans crossed over. Four. First time ever, both chambers told a sitting president to stop a war that he started without their approval. Donald Trump is going to veto it. But his own party is cracking right now. Can you imagine if he didn't veto it? He's going to veto it, though. He's going to veto it. Four Republicans looked at 37% approval ratings, and they crossed the aisle. So the lower his approval ratings go, the better it is for us, and also it gives Republicans cover and at least some balls to be able to do a backbone, let's put it that way, to be able to do what is right for the American people.
